You strive to make the audio, visual, media and lighting (AVML) aspects of worship services and special events as seamless as possible, and know how to use AVML to contribute to a meaningful worship experience. While your work is often behind the scenes, you understand how valuable your function is in ensuring HHAC has the ability to be the hands and feet of Jesus to all those we encounter.

You use your skills as a collaborator in working with other ministry areas to ensure AVML needs are met and working with the Worship Pastor to ensure a unified vision is presented. You are also the key player in recruiting, training and engaging a large team of volunteers in AVML ministries with an aim towards consistent delivery.

You are a self-motivated learner who keeps abreast of emerging technologies and makes recommendations on additions and changes to contribute to the vision for the worship experience.

This is a part-time position with 30 hours per week. As the Technical Director, you will primarily work within office hours of 8:00 am to 4:30 pm, Tuesday to Friday with additional hours during evenings and weekends for ad hoc training, service/event preparation and Sunday services.
Being in a salaried position, you have the ability to opt in to health insurance through the
Western Canadian District Office.

**Responsibilities Include**:

- Weekend Gathering Support:_
- Ensure Sunday morning livestream is set up, including cameras, other equipment and
- YouTube/Facebook streams
- Support AVML ministries as-needed during worship services and special events including any vacant positions
- Troubleshooting technical issues
- Technology Ministries (Audio, Video, Media and Lighting):_
- Establish vision for AVML ministry and how it will be used to minister to members of
- HHAC and the community
- Oversee the running of all AVML functions including camera operation, sound, media, livestream and lighting
- Establishing AVML standards to facilitate seamless worship experiences
- Developing a system for consistent delivery in AVML including checklists and communication channels
- Serving as liaison between Worship Pastor and AVML team leads
- Managing, in conjunction with the Worship Pastor, the AVML budget and forecasting for future equipment replacement and upgrading
- Technical Volunteers:_
- Taking a lead role in working with AVML team leads to coordinate, recruit and train volunteers
- Oversee volunteer scheduling for AVML areas
- Working closely with AVML team leads in developing their skills as leaders and maintaining consistent delivery standards for their technical areas
- Creating and facilitating training for AVML volunteers on an as-needed basis
- Assist in the spiritual growth and encouragement of members on AVML teams
- General Ministry Support:_
- Partnering with Worship Pastor and other parties as needed to develop and maintain
- HHAC’s vision for worship experiences
- Liaising with other ministry leads on an as-needed basis to review and deliver AVML needs

**Qualifications Include**:

- Required Qualifications:_
- Intentionally seeks after God and enjoys a growing relationship with Jesus Christ
- Knowledge and experience with set-up, design and operation of sound, lighting and video/presentation software and equipment
- Strong understanding of the software and equipment used for livestreaming and the ability to troubleshoot and problem-solve when required
- Proficient in the use of audio and video editing software and concepts
- Experience in presentation and virtual mixing software
- Demonstrated skills in collaboration and team building
- Ability to multi-task and thrive under pressure
- A continuous student mentality with a commitment to learn and grow in skills and abilities related to this position
- Sound verbal and written communication skills
- Post-secondary training in a related field
- Ability to be self motivated and work independently
- Minimum 4 years of involvement in AVML in a church setting
- Preferred qualifications:_
- Previous experience leading teams
- Experience with ProPresenter
