We have a great opportunity for an experienced hospitality manager to train into a General Manager position at our location at 580 Pembina Highway.

Prior Restaurant and Management experience is required, but having and showing the values above is an asset.

The General Manager works closely with the Dyck Hospitality Group ownership and will be developed and supported in order to meet the business KPIs and goals.

Duties of a General Manager at Smitty's:

Employee Relations

  1. Lead employee recruitment, promotions, hiring and dismissals
  2. Scheduling and conducting regular employee performance reviews
  3. Facilitate a consistent orientation process for all employees according to Dyck Group procedures
  4. Organize, support and inspire staff
  5. Respond to staff needs professionally and respectfully
  6. Develop and build team relationships
  7. Work with and continue development of existing Assistant Management/Supervisor team

Administrative Duties

  1. Maintain inventory control of liquor food, sundries, utensils and dishware
  2. Provide appropriate and timely information to staff regarding promotional products and events
  3. Complete bi-weekly payroll
  4. Maintain accurate records related to labor sheets
  5. Manage cash, and conduct procedures for till count and change-over
  6. Perform the audit, balancing cash and sales
  7. Be responsible for regular bank drops
  8. Attend to the ATM, bail VLT's, balance floats
  9. Oversee maintenance and upkeep of equipment, supplies, facility, etc.
  10. Assist in all details related to banquet services / events
  11. Must be available to work long hours, holidays, weekends and evenings and to be on call and willing to answer your phone at all hours when problems arise

Guest Services

  1. Regularly monitor quality assurance as it relates to food, services and facilities
  2. Develop a professional, friendly relationship with internal and external customers and suppliers
  3. Diffuse situations with unhappy guests
  4. Maintain a clean and efficient appearance in lounge and restaurant

Business Development

  1. Establish annual and quarterly goals for your role
  2. Maintain awareness of current trends, with an eye to being a leader in hospitality services
  3. Assist ownership in developing and facilitating the delivery of marketing goals and action plans
  4. Participate in regular meetings with ownership and management team for the purpose of trouble shooting, employee development and strategic planning

The compensation for this position is experience based and ranges from 50,000/year to 60,000/year plus benefits.
