I am looking for a senior accountant for a manufacturing and retail distribution group located in Ville-St Laurent. The Accountant will be responsible for managing the full cycle of accounting and team supervision. This position is permanent, full-time, with the possibility of working remote.

  • Prepare and review monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in accordance with generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP).
  • Manage and reconcile general ledger accounts, ensuring accuracy and completeness of transactions.
  • Analyze financial data and trends to provide insights and recommendations to management for decision-making purposes.
  • Lead the month-end and year-end close processes, including preparation of journal entries and accruals.
  • Perform variance analysis to identify discrepancies and opportunities for cost savings or revenue enhancement.
  • Ensure compliance with internal policies and procedures, as well as relevant regulatory requirements.
  • Coordinate and support external audits, providing documentation and explanations as needed.
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field; CPA certification a plus. Audit experience strongly preferred
  • 3+ years of progressive experience in accounting, including hands-on experience with financial reporting and analysis.
  • Strong understanding of accounting principles, standards, and regulations (GAAP).
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel skills, including pivot tables, v-lookups, and complex formulas.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities, with a keen attention to detail.
  • Effective communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to articulate financial concepts to non-financial stakeholders.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment, managing multiple priorities and deadlines.
