This is an unpaid volunteer opportunity. Directors and Coordinators are expected to put in a minimum of 6 hours per week and be responsive to emails within 36 hours. Ottawa Dog Rescue is seeking a creative and motivated Social Media Coordinator to promote Ottawa Dog Rescue across various platforms. Your work will raise awareness, attract adopters and foster volunteers, and support our fundraising efforts. Responsibilities Manage and create content for social media platforms (e.g., Facebook, Instagram). Promote fundraising events, adoption stories, and volunteer opportunities. Engage with the online community by responding to comments and messages. Collaborate with the event planning and fundraising teams to ensure effective promotion. Monitor analytics to enhance engagement and reach. Develop content that reflects key trends, insights, and strategic stories. Assist other directors in increasing brand awareness and engagement. Promote the brand to increase social media traffic, engagement, followers, sponsors, and donations. Proofread and ensure clear, effective delivery of social media messages. Maintain and update operational documents; assist in developing procedures. Draft and edit content for various marketing campaigns. Requirements Experience with social media management. Strong written communication skills and creative mindset. Knowledge of social media best practices and importance of adhering to branding guidelines. Familiarity with animal welfare and rescue operations is a plus. Ability to work independently and collaborate with a team. Interested?
