Area Manager

Lock Search Group is partnering with one of Canada’s fastest growing Healthcare Seating and Mobility organizations as they expand their team. We are currently seeking an Area Manager in the Eastern Ontario region. The candidate can reside in Ottawa, Kingston, Barrie, or Toronto East.


The Area Manager proactively plans, directs, coordinates, and manages the work of personnel while ensuring quality customer care and service as well as implementing and maintaining safe, efficient, and cost-effective operations. The Area Manager has direct oversight of multiple branches, including accountability for results in terms of financial results, business development, productivity, methods of work, and employee retention.


Key Responsibilities

  • Full oversight and responsibility for branch transaction cycle type, margins, expenses, and top/bottom-line revenue goals.
  • Lead and seek out business development opportunities within assigned territory.
  • Report appropriate items of interest and metrics to Senior Leadership.
  • Offer business improvement suggestions for the territory.
  • Oversee and direct branch quality and performance improvements.
  • Proactively monitor and address compliance with productivity and performance standards and expectations.
  • Accountable for organizational activities and operations conducted in compliance with company policies and procedures, applicable provincial and local laws, and health and safety regulations. Compliance, risk mitigation, and best practices are a priority.
  • Oversee and assist the sales force to optimize productivity and overall transaction cycle times.
  • Ensure adequate staffing in branches and the successful onboarding and training of new hires.
  • Oversee recruitment, including interviewing and selecting successful candidates.
  • Collaborate with Human Resources to resolve employee concerns/issues and proactively address underperformance or other employee challenges.
  • Lead, motivate, coach, develop, and support branch staff in achieving branch and organizational objectives.
  • Manage inventory; ensures cost-effectiveness of sales and rental inventories.
  • Address and resolve client issues/concerns at the branch level and develop branch staff to do the same.
  • Ensure orders are entered and completed in all inventory systems for timely delivery to clients.
  • Cross train management personnel to facilitate vacation coverage and ensure continuity.
  • Notify executive team of potential issues that may impact the branch.
  • Manage employee vacation requests and arrange suitable coverage.
  • Provide operational support for other team members – may include receiving and purchasing while those employees are on vacation.
  • Ensure proper maintenance, care, and security for facilities, vehicles, and property.
  • Liaise with landlord to resolve facilities maintenance issues.
  • Manage cleaning and building maintenance contracts.
  • Arrange for routine vehicle maintenance. Maintain vehicle maintenance logs and arrange ad hoc repairs as required.
  • Deliver customer service and service programs, in compliance with company standards.


Qualifications

  • Degree or equivalent work experience required.
  • minimum of 5+ years of progressive management experience overseeing a complex business with aggregate financial and operational responsibility.
  • to travel extensively throughout the region (with a valid driver’s license).

  • with strong leadership and decision-making capabilities.
