Position Title: Advancement Officer Department: Engagement & AdvancementReports to: Head of Engagement & AdvancementClassification: Out-of-ScopeLocation: On-site, Winnipeg, MBTerm: 14-month contract positionStart Date: As soon as possible Position Summary The Advancement Officer plays a key role in supporting WAG-Qaumajuq’s fundraising and development efforts. This position is responsible for planning, organizing, writing, and administering public sector funding contracts, coordinating the donor database, and providing general departmental support to advance the Gallery’s mission. Key Responsibilities Prepare and submit public sector funding applications accurately and on time. Collaborate with departments to develop funding proposals and reporting. Research, prepare, track, and report on grant submissions and corporate funding proposals for programs and projects. Maintain systems for funding submissions and reporting. Research new funding sources and stay current with best practices for public and foundation funding. Administer the donor database, ensuring data integrity and generating lists as needed. Assist with membership and individual giving initiatives, including appeals, impact reports, donor recognition, stewardship, and events. Support sponsorship activities, including prospecting, meetings, and fulfillment. Uphold equity and anti-racism principles through ongoing education, bias awareness, and application of organizational policies. Other duties as assigned. Qualifications Required: Post‑secondary degree. Minimum three years of experience in fundraising. Strong writing and research skills for proposal development. Experience with donor management software (e.g., Raiser’s Edge or similar). Proficiency in spreadsheets, budgeting, and revenue tracking. Ability to prioritize tasks and work under pressure to meet deadlines. Availability for occasional evenings and weekends. Assets: Superior oral and written communication skills.
