We’ve built all of our technology in house including an EHR, patient care admin system, patient portal, website, marketing technology, etc. Winona has two compounding pharmacies and a team of in‑house physicians providing world‑class care via a fully vertically integrated business model. About the role As a Solutions Architect, you’ll play a critical role in shaping and communicating how our platform works end‑to‑end. This is not a heads‑down coding role or a purely theoretical architecture position. Instead, you’ll sit at the intersection of product intent and technical execution, helping teams understand system structure, data flow, and real‑world behavior. You’ll own key architectural documentation, partner closely with Product and Engineering, and ensure that complex workflows are well understood before and during implementation. Responsibilities Develop and maintain high‑level architecture diagrams that describe system structure and boundaries Define and document data flows for critical user journeys and backend processes Create event and trigger maps that show how actions propagate through the system Document external dependencies and integrations, including third‑party APIs and services (including to our pharmacy partners) Provide lightweight component overviews where helpful (not code‑level documentation) Partner with Engineering to create and standardize sequence diagrams for key features and workflows Ensure diagrams clearly show: Validation and business logic steps Data persistence Event emission and async processing External service calls and failure paths Use these artifacts to support planning, scoping, and architectural discussions Maintain visibility into which internal and external APIs are involved in critical flows Help teams understand integration boundaries and responsibilities Support architectural consistency across services and integrations Document deployment and release processes Partner with Engineering to ensure monitoring and alerting concepts are well understood Requirements 7+ years of experience in software engineering, solutions architecture, or systems design Strong understanding of modern web architectures (frontend, backend, APIs, event‑driven systems) Experience working with integration‑heavy or asynchronous systems Ability to create clear, structured technical documentation Excellent communication skills with both technical and non‑technical partners Knowledge in: React, Node, Typescript, Postgres Nice to Have Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, or similar) Familiarity with microservices architectures, Stripe, Segment, A/B Testing Tooling Experience supporting product planning or delivery scoping Architecture or cloud certifications What's in it for you?
