Position Title: Senior Advisor, Indigenous Entrepreneurship Location: Regional deployment within Canada (flexible, based on community needs) Across Ontario Across Quebec and Atlantic (must be bilingual) Across Manitoba and Saskatchewan Salary: $80,000 - $140,000+ (depending on experience) Overview We are seeking a dedicated and community-focused Senior Advisor, Indigenous Entrepreneurship, to support and uplift Indigenous entrepreneurs across Canada. This role is part of a broader initiative to enhance support for Indigenous business owners by improving access to capital, mentorship, networking opportunities, and tailored business education. In this role, you will serve as a key liaison between the organization and Indigenous communities, acting as a trusted advisor and connector. Your work will focus on building strong, trust-based relationships, offering guidance and support, and ensuring our services are aligned with the unique needs of Indigenous entrepreneurs. You will report to the Inclusive Entrepreneurship team and play an integral role in shaping and executing strategies that promote Indigenous economic empowerment. Key Responsibilities Relationship Building & Community Engagement Establish and nurture strong, respectful relationships with Indigenous entrepreneurs and community partners. Actively promote the organization’s credibility and presence within Indigenous communities. Serve as a referral resource, connecting entrepreneurs with appropriate internal departments and service offerings. Partner with internal teams (including account managers and business development staff) to provide insight and support for Indigenous client needs. Maintain consistent outreach within your region to identify emerging opportunities and provide relevant support. Strategic Support & Education Act as an internal subject matter expert, sharing knowledge of Indigenous business environments and challenges. Support internal education initiatives to help staff understand and engage meaningfully with Indigenous communities. Provide strategic input into the development of tailored programs and services for Indigenous entrepreneurs. Help coordinate and support training opportunities and diversity initiatives across the organization. Business Development Work collaboratively across business units to identify new opportunities and help Indigenous businesses grow. Leverage your community network to generate business leads and expand engagement. Participate in regional Indigenous-focused conferences and events to stay informed and connected. Monitor evolving economic trends and community developments that may affect Indigenous entrepreneurs. What You Bring A strong track record of building lasting, respectful relationships, ideally within Indigenous communities. Deep understanding of the systemic barriers and unique opportunities facing Indigenous entrepreneurs. A demonstrated commitment to advancing Indigenous economic empowerment and development. Bachelor’s degree in business administration or a related field—or an equivalent combination of education and experience. 5+ years of experience in business development, financial services, or a related field. Proven ability to analyze and communicate financial information. Effective communication and presentation skills across diverse audiences. Leadership qualities that inspire others and promote inclusive practices. Familiarity with economic development strategies and support for small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs). Self-identified Indigenous person. Excellent English communication skills (spoken and written); French language ability is an asset.
