**Work Arrangements**:

- Due to the nature of the work and operational requirements, this position is eligible for a hybrid work arrangement (combination of working onsite and telework). Employees in this position who telework will be required to travel to the identified work site at least three times per week or a minimum of 60% of their regular work schedule at their own expense.

**The Role**:
Situated in the NRC’s Executive Offices, the Indigenous Engagement Advisor plays a central role in shaping and supporting the NRC’s Indigenous Engagement strategy and reconciliation efforts with First Nations, Inuit and Métis rights holders.

Working in close collaboration with NRC’s Indigenous Strategy and Engagement Team, the Indigenous Co-Champions, and external and internal networks, the Indigenous Engagement Advisor is responsible for providing advice and guidance on NRC engagement activities to Executives and colleagues at all levels in the organization to:

- Improve intercultural competency among NRC employees.
- Strengthen research relationships with Indigenous peoples and organizations.
- Support Indigenous business innovation.
- Strengthen Indigenous STEM participation in the NRC workforce and broader research ecosystem.

Bachelor’s degree in any field.

**Experience**:

- Significant experience working with First Nations, Métis and/or Inuit peoples in an Indigenous relations role.
- Significant experience in building and maintaining effective, collaborative relationships, partnerships and networks of contacts.
- Experience working with research/knowledge, gained either through Western research methodologies or through traditional Indigenous methodologies and land-based learning or both.
- Experience in research (including environmental scanning), analysis, preparation and presentation of detailed reports.
- Experience in the design and delivery of engagement sessions with Indigenous groups including special events, workshops, symposia, and conferences.

- Ability to work effectively in a complex environment, serving a number of internal and external clients and interacting with multiple stakeholders.
