Canada New Value Solutions Full time

New Value Solutions, a national IT consulting company is seeking a Project Manager to help our client Lead and manage complex healthcare projects, ensuring alignment with provincial health standards, stakeholder engagement, and successful project execution from planning through deployment, while managing budgets, risks, and team development.


Responsibilities:


  • Project Planning and Management:


  1. Develop and manage comprehensive project plans and roadmaps, considering budget, schedule, milestones and risk factors.
  2. Develop and maintain project management tools and approaches, such as work-breakdown structure and team-stand up meetings
  3. Plan, manage, and monitor project budget and financial reporting.
  4. Communicate and collaborate with Project Team Members and other stakeholders to ensure alignment.
  5. Provide timely support to project-related queries.
  6. Facilitate effective communication across the provincial health sector.
  7. Develop briefing notes for information, discussion, and decision.


  • Project Team Development and Management:


  1. Participate in project resource recruitment activities.
  2. Work with project team to co-create a team agreement/charter with a team vision, shared values, and shared expectations related to team norms, communications, proactive conflict management, etc.
  3. Plan and deliver team-building activities to develop a high-performing team.
  4. Assign work assignments/activities to project team members.


  • Status Reporting and Dashboard Maintenance:


  1. Regularly update project and program status reports and maintain a project dashboard.
  2. Develop executive-level project update summaries.
  3. Provide visibility into project progress, milestones, and key performance indicators.


  • Project Documentation:


  1. Develop and update project charters, business cases, and evaluation plans.
  2. Document findings, recommendations, decisions and change requirements.
  3. Maintain CRAID log.


  • Business Analysis:


  1. Support business analysis activities, including requirements gathering.


  • Change Management:


  1. Identify and manage organizational change requirements and activities related to the project.
  2. Support change management planning.
  3. Work closely with Provincial Medical Imaging Office to ensure provincial clinical standardization for Medical Imaging Patient Pathway Project.


  • Scope Management:


  1. Manage project scope change processes and obtain necessary approvals.
  2. Ensure alignment with project objectives.


  • Performance Tracking:


  1. Monitor Project Team performance in executing project tasks.
  2. Control, track, and report on day-to-day aspects of the project.


  • Financial Oversight:


  1. Control, track, and report on project financials (budgeted, planned, and spent).
  2. Forecast resource usage and manage financial constraints.


  • Risk and Issue Management:


  1. Identify, track, and report on project risks and issues.
  2. Conduct risk management to address, avoid, or mitigate risks.
  3. Escalate issues as needed.


  • Deliverable Acceptance:


  1. Secure acceptance and approval of project deliverables from the Sponsor and Stakeholders.


  • Meeting Facilitation:


  1. Schedule and chair Project Team meetings.
  2. Foster collaboration, consensus, and decision-making.
  3. Document meeting minutes and actions.


  • Transition to Deployment:


  1. Ensure a smooth transition of project deliverables to Deployment team.


  • Reporting and Compliance:


  1. Submit regular status reports to the PMO, Program Management, and Program Steering Committee.
  2. Adhere to project management processes as per PMO standards.
  3. Support portfolio reporting as needed.


Requirements:

  • 5+ years of work experience in project management and facilitating and managing consultation processes with a wide range of stakeholder groups including within the vendor community.
  • Strong project management skills, with the ability to manage multiple Agile projects simultaneously.
  • Working knowledge and experience with agile as well as waterfall project management concepts practices, and deliverables.
  • Ability to effectively navigate and deliver results in a large and complex healthcare environment is necessary.
  • Solid understanding of how various technologies fit together in a provincial health ecosystem to deliver services.
  • Ability to effectively coordinate and manage complex projects that span multiple vendors and stakeholders.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to explain concepts and topics in layman’s terms to non-subject matter experts and build consensus and credibility among diverse stakeholder groups.
  • Strong stakeholder engagement and conflict management skills.
  • Ability to coordinate, prioritize, and complete multiple tasks.
  • Exceptional MS Office skills.


Preference given to candidates who have:

  • Experience working within the BC Health Sector on digital enablement projects.
  • Experience working with, or for, an EMR vendor based in BC.
  • Strong forward-thinking, analytical, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills.
  • A demonstrated clear pattern of professional and personal development.
  • Project Management Professional designation.

The hourly rate range for this position is $60- $80, with the final rate based on consultant experience and fit for the role.
