Key Responsibilities:
- Manage packaging development activities for new product projects, ensuring timely and cost-effective delivery.
- Conduct thorough analysis of part design change points to identify ideal packaging solutions that maintain part quality.
- Develop and implement supply chain operating cost reduction strategies by optimizing packaging designs.
- Establish and coordinate project development plans, aligning with overall project specifications and stakeholder requirements.
- Communicate project activities and progress to various stakeholders, ensuring clear understanding and buy-in.
- Verify fabricator deliverables and schedules, ensuring timely completion and quality standards.
- Utilize technical expertise to sell packaging design ideas and secure stakeholder support.
- Effectively communicate project details to diverse audiences, building strong relationships with key stakeholders.
- Summarize required change points and concerns, providing justification and recommendations.
- Evaluate, test, and implement packaging designs and change points to validate part quality specifications.
- Design, procure, verify, and conduct trials for packaging effectiveness, identifying critical impacts and risks.
- Recognize potential impacts and past problem history affecting stakeholders, ensuring proactive mitigation.
- Manage timing and department requirements, understanding the purpose of each build event.
- Document packaging maturation stages using standard development forms, ensuring completeness and accuracy.
- Confirm all project data is complete, accurate, and usable for downstream customers, maintaining file structure and naming conventions.
- Ensure customer needs are met without impact due to missed project targets, and that customer supports and agrees with deliverables.
- Escalate issues to management for resource allocation and timely action.
Requirements:
- Project management experience and skills.
- Ability to identify new product changes and understand design change flow.
- Knowledge of budget payment and timing, as well as past problem history related to the supply base.
- Understanding of process, equipment, business, and human constraints.
- CRF reporting and tracking skills.
- Knowledge of project SAP milestones and targets.
- Effective communication and presentation skills.
- Relationship building and file management skills.
- Ability to maintain data accuracy and summarize concerns with justification.
- Ability to escalate problems if they occur.
- Knowledge of Honda Systems and ability to utilize DCMS.
- Knowledge of new model flow (E-Flow).
- Mentorship skills and knowledge of safety ergonomics.
- Honda Business Knowledge and general knowledge of Honda genpos and their unique conditions and characteristics.
- Independent worker and team player with ability to work with various teams on-site and remotely.
- Capable of keeping track of multiple projects and maintaining accurate data and documentation.
- Maintain and build good relationships while working in a high-paced business environment.
- Frequent overtime and regional travel.
- Required to attend and lead collaboration meetings.
- Create presentations and share with multiple layers of management.
