Overview The Defence Construction Canada (DCC) team invites students for a two‑to‑four‑month work experience term in one of five Atlantic Canada offices. You will work on engineering, environmental science, and infrastructure projects that support Canada’s defence and national security. Employment Details Salary Range: $37,290 – $48,475 per yearEmployment Status: CasualTerm Length: 4 monthsLocations: Halifax (Nova Scotia), Gagetown (New Brunswick), Gander (Newfoundland and Labrador), Greenwood (Nova Scotia), Goose Bay (Newfoundland and Labrador) What You Can Expect Monitoring inspections, construction contracts, and control of materials Checking compliance with contractual requirements and reporting deviations Maintaining records, schedules, and documents, and preparing standard reports Supporting renovation and new construction projects Tendering of construction contracts by reviewing plans and specifications Qualifications Good judgement, positive attitude, and flexible nature Knowledge of computer software programs and how to use them Strong critical thinking, writing, and interpersonal skills, with an attention to detail Eligibility Minimum age requirement to work in Nova Scotia, New Brunswick, Newfoundland and Labrador Currently enrolled in engineering, engineering technology, architecture, environmental science, data sciences, or a related field at an accredited college or university A valid driver’s licence and access to a vehicle is preferred Eligible to work in Canada Remuneration Post‑secondary students will receive pay aligned with the Government of Canada Treasury Board guidelines. Compensation is determined by academic level and experience. Security Clearance All positions require at least a Reliability security status clearance; some may require a Secret clearance. DCC is responsible for the clearance process, which includes background verification, criminal record checks, reference checks, open‑source checks, and credit checks. Candidates must obtain and maintain the required clearance. Code of Business Conduct All employees must read, understand, and agree to the DCC Code of Business Conduct upon commencement. Ongoing compliance is required, with annual updates.
