Project Assistant (Indigenous Youth Employment Opportunity) Defence Construction Canada (DCC) invites truly motivated Indigenous students to join our team for a 2–4 month term in the Atlantic Region. The role supports projects for the Canadian Armed Forces and the Department of National Defence, offering both office and field experience while building a professional network. Responsibilities Research, prepare and present documentation related to project initiation, development, definition and implementation. Provide project and program management support. Monitor contracts, including construction, property management and environmental agreements. Check compliance with contractual requirements and report deviations. Maintain records, schedules and standard reports. Coordinate data to create analytical and visual reporting tools using automated sources and technologies. Support renovation and new construction projects. Participate in tendering of construction contracts by reviewing plans and specifications. Provide general administrative support. Qualifications Good judgement, positive attitude and flexible nature. Knowledge of Microsoft Office and related software. Strong critical‑thinking, writing and interpersonal skills with attention to detail. Eligibility & Requirements Minimum age to work in Nova Scotia, New Brunswick or Newfoundland and Labrador. Eligible to work in Canada and a Canadian citizen or permanent resident. Self‑identify as an Indigenous person (First Nations, Inuit or Métis). Currently enrolled at a Canadian post‑secondary institution. Must obtain a minimum reliability security clearance; some positions may require a secret clearance. Compensation The remuneration aligns with the Canada Treasury Board guidelines for post‑secondary students and is determined by academic level and experience.
