Job Description Reporting to the Senior Manager, Events & Experience, the Senior Event Planner will be responsible for the scheduling, planning and execution of midsized to large-scale events and conferences for Mackenzie Investments. Responsibilities Manage the successful execution of large-scale events and conferences, including program development, delivery on time and budget, from ideation to post‑planning. Allocate required resources and ensure quality control of conference communications, food & beverage planning, and vendor bookings. Negotiate with vendors and manage booking processes. Adhere to Event & Conferences Sales Practices Guidelines and ensure all policies are followed. Manage speaker considerations and provide recommendations for all corporate conferences and events through speaker bureaus or directly with the speaker. Provide sales teams with field communications, budget tracking, project planning, executive decks, onsite deliverables and program logistics in collaboration with onsite external operation managers. Develop creative solutions to problems including emergencies, unforeseen circumstances, complaints and special requests. Analyze event feedback and attendance surveys, recommend improvements and share best practices. Manage communication, logistics, project plans, workflows, show flows, production schedules and budgets. Manage or co‑manage conferences on site. Sundry duties as assigned. Qualifications Education or skills acquired through completion of a specialized post‑secondary degree or equivalent in Event Planning. A minimum of 3 years’ experience in Event Planning. Subject matter expert with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access, Project). Ability to multi‑task and adapt to changing priorities and duties. Ability to work within tight timelines. Team player and collaborator. Ability to take directions well and run highly impactful events. Energetic, passionate and ambitious. Professional and conservative attire required at all times. Strong knowledge of mutual fund industry and understanding of industry compliance regulations pertaining to conferences and events. Very strong verbal and written communication skills to relay event details and requirements to internal and external participants. Excellent editorial skills with knowledge of grammar, spelling and punctuation. Must be able to travel up to 30% or more as requested. Bilingualism is considered an asset. The expected annual base salary range for this role is $62,000 - $80,000, which is determined based on skills, knowledge and experience and geographic location.
