Wesdome’s newly renovated Corporate office is in downtown Toronto, near Union Station, 25 minutes from Pearson Airport, close to restaurants, shopping, sports, entertainment and fitness centres. About The Opportunity The Vice President (VP), Human Resources (VP HR) will act as a key executive business partner responsible for providing executive level leadership and guidance to the organization’s HR strategy and operations. The VP HR provides the framework for planning, designing, implementing, and evaluating legally compliant HR programs, policies, and procedures, and identifying and implementing long-range strategic talent management goals. As a member of the Senior Leadership Team (SLT) and reporting to the CEO, the VP HR plays a key role in achieving Wesdome’s strategic objectives, ensures a dynamic and thriving workplace that aligns with the Company’s mission, values and culture and ensure that the HR function is managed effectively and efficiently both at the Corporate and site levels. The VP HR builds strong relationships across sites to support values. Position Responsibilities, Accountabilities And Job Duties Business Executive. Works closely with the President & CEO to formulate the Company’s future direction, organization structure, strategic HR objectives, business strategies and supporting tactical initiatives; monitor and direct the implementation of strategic business plans. People & Culture Strategist. Sustains company values and culture at all levels; fosters a working environment where employees’ contributions are respected and valued while focusing on retention, innovation, development and operational excellence. Risk Manager. Identifies, monitors and manages HR risks to achieve objectives. Change Champion. Creates organizational capacity for change and leads programs promoting flexibility and effectiveness. Executive Coach. Provides strategic HR and organizational development expertise to the CEO and Executive team. HR Operations Advisor. Supports operations from an HR perspective, including labour relations; serves as primary contact for significant HR issues and monitors employee satisfaction via surveys. HR Service Model Architect. Leads organizational design and succession planning; collaborates on enterprise initiatives related to organizational and employee development. Communicator. Leads Internal Communications to deploy an effective strategy and gather employee feedback. Subject Matter Expert. Provides compensation, benefits and recognition strategy; oversees programs and ensures compliance with regulatory requirements. Workforce Designer. Oversees talent acquisition strategies and supports learning and development, leadership development and succession planning. Steward of the Organization. Guides governance structure and HR systems strategy (HCM, LMS, ATS) and multi-year roadmap. Team Leader. Manages reporting staff, including selection, coaching, development, performance management and related practices. Qualifications And Experience Bachelor’s degree in Commerce / Business or HR or related field CPHR designation or equivalent 10-15 years of progressive HR leadership experience in mining, resources, manufacturing or related industries with strong HR technical skills Equivalents considered; mix of education and experience Experience in large, global, high-growth organizations, including M&A or large-scale projects is preferred Adaptable, agile and thrives in fast-paced, matrixed environments Proven HR business partner with strategic initiatives, coaching and executive-level advisory experience Business-focused with strong financial acumen and results orientation Excellent communication, presentation, facilitation and problem-solving skills Comfort with data and analytics English/French bilingual is an asset Working Conditions / Schedule Location: Corporate Office - Toronto, Ontario Type: Permanent full-time Existing vacancy: Yes - open and available immediately Travel: As required to sites and other locations Other Information To learn more and for additional details about “Why Work with Us” and “Life at Wesdome”, please visit wesdome.com > People and Careers.
