Senior Project Manager, SPO Concrete The Senior Project Manager, Self-Perform Operations (SPO) Concrete will lead, manage, and coordinate all phases of self-performed concrete projects from preconstruction through to closeout. They must uphold the highest ethical standards and demonstrate proven leadership skills to develop people and projects. Duties & Responsibilities Support business development activities by maintaining long-lasting relationships with clients, the design community, engineers, and other organizations to enhance future self-performed concrete opportunities. Work with the Estimating and Project Development teams to secure self-performed concrete work. Oversee the preconstruction phase and provide leadership to project teams, ensuring execution on the construction and turnover of self-performed concrete work. Develop and promote the latest industry technologies, systems, processes, and innovations to keep Clark Builders as an industry leader. Build diverse, high-performing teams through coaching, training, development opportunities, and creating challenging experiences. Lead and work with project teams to: Develop project-specific safety and quality plans. Set profit and productivity goals. Evaluate and select formwork systems. Complete material, subcontractor, and equipment procurement. Assemble the appropriate field crew and field supervision team. Work with senior operations leaders to hold project teams accountable for meeting minimum productivity, profit, safety, quality, and schedule goals. Success will be measured on: Client satisfaction, Financial performance, Safety performance, Quality performance, and creating positive development opportunities, mentoring, and assisting staff in career advancement. Successfully lead operational improvement initiatives related to self-performed concrete. Develop standards and maintain records for all self-performed concrete: start-up and closeout documentation, productivity data collection, information sharing. Performance manage staff and direct reports; set personal and team goals/strategies aligned with annual Key Result Areas (KRAs). Liaise with Turner Construction’s Self-Perform Concrete peer group across North America monthly. Skills & Knowledge Proven ability to manage complex, multi-storey, institutional, and commercial self-perform concrete projects with a variety of formwork systems. Proven leadership skills with a strong focus on mentoring and motivating. Demonstrated ability to manage key relationships, including clients, business partners, government agencies, and subcontractors. Ability to identify key issues and creatively overcome internal and external challenges or obstacles. Sound understanding of risk management related to self-performed concrete work. Knowledge of Human Resources policies, practices, and procedures. Effective attention to detail and a high degree of accuracy. High level of integrity, confidentiality, and accountability. Sound analytical thinking, planning, prioritization, and execution skills. A well-defined sense of diplomacy, including solid negotiation, conflict resolution, and people management skills. Outstanding listening and communication skills. Questions conventional approaches, explores alternatives, and provides innovative solutions. Qualifications A post-secondary degree or diploma in construction or engineering. Minimum of 15 years in construction with at least 10 years managing progressively larger and more complex self-performed concrete projects. Estimating experience in self-performed concrete. On-site Project Coordination or Project Management experience. Previous experience working on a remote or logistically challenging project. Experience with Last Planner® System an asset. Experience with Procore® Construction Management Software an asset. Ability to travel regularly throughout Alberta, BC and NWT. Ready to build your career with us?
