Location Edmonton Role Summary Kristian Electric is looking for a Welder Service / Shop Supervisor to join our Edmonton branch. As the Welder Service / Shop Supervisor, you will be responsible for managing and coordinating welder service jobs with technicians and customers, be a primary contact for all service and welder parts inquiries, scheduling of maintenance inspections, service writing, and lead the welder service team regarding all aspects of employee engagement and evaluations, safety training, and other administrative/clerical duties. You may also be asked to service, troubleshoot, repair, and calibrate welders and welder equipment. Key Responsibilities Coordinate and schedule welder service technicians for service calls and jobs Organize parts required for servicing and requests from technicians, procurement of materials, and the order desk Schedule and track welder maintenance inspections Communicate with customers concerning work in progress, acquiring PO numbers, resolving problems and warranties Manage service inquiries – calls, e‑mails, walk‑ins, etc. Prepare and submit quotes to customers Source parts from multiple vendors Complete all service writing tasks Collaborate with sales team for service jobs and projects as required – preparing quotes, recommending vendors, briefing, and scheduling technicians, customer service Maintain monthly reports – work hours, vendor invoices, serial numbers, customer service evaluations, parts and job management, inspections, warranty claims, etc. Update and manage customer warranty claims on vendor portals Participate in workplace OH&S policies and conduct safety/toolbox meetings, work closely with Health and Safety Manager to complete tasks in SiteDocs Other managerial/administrative tasks: Delegate tasks to technicians Assist safety in maintaining up‑to‑date training for technicians Sign off on scheduling/vacation requests appropriately for direct reports Evaluate and provide regular feedback for technicians Perform preventative and corrective maintenance of welders and equipment Troubleshoot equipment to diagnose deficiencies and determine repairs required Repair or replace defective parts Clean, lubricate, adjust, and perform other maintenance work on welders and equipment Use vendor resources, equipment manuals, and other resources to problem‑solve and diagnose repairs Educational Requirements Journeyman Electrician Minimum 5 years’ experience with electronics Minimum 5 years’ experience troubleshooting and repairing welding machines and equipment Experience repairing Miller, Lincoln, Hobart, ESAB, and Hypertherm products High School diploma or GED equivalent Experience and Skills Required Ability to work varied hours, overtime and on‑call if needed Valid driver’s license and driver abstract evidencing a clean driving record Safety oriented Experience operating forklifts with valid forklift certification Core Competencies Ability to problem‑solve, troubleshoot, and diagnose electrical and mechanical issues Reliable, organized, and attentive to details when working on and servicing welder machines and equipment Exceptional customer service experience Ability to function as part of a team and to request and accept direction as required Make sure diagnosis and services are accurate for customers, and the safety and integrity of the business, as well as building regulation compliance Dedication to safety and willingness to fully participate in the Kristian Health & Safety Program Positive attitude towards learning, motivating, working on a team, and engaging with customers Ability to be accountable with minimal supervision Ability to work in a fast‑paced environment Clear communicator both written and verbally Working Conditions Shop environment Requires steel‑toed footwear Eye protection is provided Why join the Kristian Electric team We are excited to grow – hopefully you can grow with us What We Offer Competitive wages Health & Dental benefits Company pension plan Friendly work environment Other Information Kristian Electric Ltd. is located at A Ave NW, Edmonton, AB.
