LTO Assignment: Grade 8 Physical Education and Math Long Term Occasional (LTO) assignment covering a teacher on leave at the Ottawa Catholic School Board. Job Summary Provide coverage for a full‑time grade 8 teacher in both Physical Education and Mathematics. This is a 1.00 FTE position with a 3‑day application window. Responsibilities Teach grade 8 Physical Education and Mathematics according to the Ottawa Catholic School Board curriculum. Develop lesson plans, instructional materials and assessments that meet board standards. Maintain a safe and supportive learning environment for all students. Collaborate with other teachers, administrators and support staff to support student learning. Qualifications Good standing with the Ontario College of Teachers. Successful completion of Sexual Abuse Prevention Training through OCT. Relevant teaching experience in grade 8 Physical Education and Mathematics. Commitment to equity, diversity, and inclusion as reflected in the board’s EEO statement. Salary Salary will be determined in accordance with Article 32 of the OECTA Collective Agreement and will range from $51,234.00 to $119,943.00 as of September 1, 2025. Application Process All applications must be submitted through Apply to Education using an OCSB email address. Incomplete applications will not be considered. Failure to complete the application will affect eligibility for an interview. Selection Process The board will identify the three most senior qualified applicants and contact them to confirm interest. Applicants who decline will be replaced on a rolling basis, ensuring five applicants are considered. If fewer than three qualified applicants apply, the board will select from the available pool. Should no qualified occasional teachers apply or all decline, the board may hire an external qualified teacher who is not on the OCSB roster, subject to the OT interview process.
