Practice Details Join our growing neurology team at RIH and help shape neurological care in our region We are a collegial team with a focus on continuous practice improvement and collaboration. The practice offers a satisfying full‑spectrum neurology service, covering inpatient general neurology and acute stroke including thrombolysis. Care is delivered in the brand‑new Gaglardi Patient Care Tower, which houses a multi‑disciplinary stroke/rehabilitation unit. Hospitalist and internal medicine teams support neurology admissions. You will work alongside colleagues in Neurosurgery, Vascular Surgery, Physical Medicine & Rehabilitation, Cardiology, General Internal Medicine, and Infectious Diseases, and collaborate with our regional partners at Kelowna General Hospital to develop regional subspecialty care pathways. Outpatient neurology clinics are held in the new Clinical Services Building, with a TIA/stroke clinic running 5 days a week supported by a full‑time RN and booking clerk. The EMG lab is state‑of‑the‑art and staffed by an experienced technician, and the EEG lab provides both inpatient and outpatient services. We are expanding outpatient services further, including a rapid‑access neurology clinic and additional subspecialty neurology clinics. Teaching opportunities include active involvement with the UBC clerkship and residency programs, with on‑site medical students, family medicine residents, internal medicine residents, and rotating psychiatry and neurology residents. Clinic Details Royal Inland Hospital (RIH), a 273‑bed facility, serves as the primary referral centre for nearly 250,000 individuals within the Thompson‑Cariboo‑Shuswap Health Service Area. As the region’s leading tertiary referral hospital and Level 1 Trauma Centre, RIH manages over 250 major trauma cases and accommodates 72,000 Emergency Department visits each year. The Phil and Jennie Gaglardi Tower, a $417‑million expansion opened in summer 2022, has propelled RIH into a new healthcare era, featuring advanced mental health units and surgical services. In 2024, we completed a new post‑anesthetic recovery room and pediatric unit, and revamped the emergency entrance – with the department’s full completion on track for autumn 2026. Further growth includes a $359‑million cancer centre, set to enrich our cancer care services by 2028. Our teams deliver comprehensive care across internal medicine, OB/GYN, general surgery, orthopedics, ophthalmology, ENT, pathology, psychiatry, pediatrics, anesthesia, radiology, urology, and family practice inpatient care, leveraging expertise and innovative facilities to provide the highest standard of healthcare to our community. Compensation Compensation Type: Fee‑for‑Service; Estimated Remuneration: $500,000 + MOCAP Level 1. Benefits and Incentives Relocation Funding: Reimbursement up to a maximum of $9,000 for moves within BC, $12,000 for moves within Canada, and $15,000 for those relocating from outside Canada (with eligible detailed receipts).
