Overview

A Functional Consultant (Configurator) is responsible for understanding business problems and

designing solutions on an enterprise product platform (via declarative tools). A Functional

Consultant looks at business requirements and interprets how to best apply the out of the box

product to provide a solution, including finding alternative approaches that best leverage the

platform. Functional Consultants most often use Agile techniques and are a part of a larger,

cross-functional team.


Experiences

  • Has implemented multiple projects in at least one module of Dynamics 365
  • Has implemented intermediate-level user stories with little or no additional oversight according to the enterprise product's best practices
  • Has built out ambiguous user stories and driven client discussions for clarity
  • Facilitate and lead customer facing workshops, lead demos, and gather / document business requirements for solutions that best leverage the Microsoft D365 CE platform, Power Platform, Canvas Apps, Model Driven Apps, Power Apps Portals, and Connectors
  • Advise customers on D365 CE out-of-the-box capabilities, drive best practices, and participate in technical design sessions.
  • Configure Dynamics 365 CE / Power Platform components
  • Has accurately estimated their own effort to implement user stories
  • Has an awareness of the need for programmatic customization of the enterprise product and can provide examples of its use
  • Has proven ability to configure elementary security controls of the product
  • Completion of MB-230 Dynamics 365 Customer Service Functional Consultant Exam or Functional Consultant Associate certification is preferred

  • Experience drafting use cases and functional design documents related to Dynamics 365 Customer Engagement
  • Proficient with Dynamics 365 Customer Service module (omnichannel functionality)
  • Proficient with Dynamics 365 Marketing Module (Customer Insight Journeys)
  • Familiar with Dynamics 365 Customer Voice
  • Familiar with Dynamics 365 Cloud for Healthcare (Patient Engagement) is an asset
  • Familiarity in configuring model-driven Power Platform applications
  • Familiarity with Data modeling, agile methodologies, Azure DevOps for task management, and D365 Customer Insights.
  • Knowledge of CRM data model, workflows, business rules, and security roles
  • Ability to customize forms, views, dashboards, and reports using the Power Platform tools
