Senior Procurement Specialist

Senior Procurement Specialist Location: Calgary, AB or Montreal, QC (office based). The Opportunity Our Major Projects group within WSP’s Energy, Resources and Industry (ERI) sector supports clients across Canada’s mining, energy, industrial and power markets. As a Senior Procurement Specialist you will manage purchasing functions on client–based projects, leading procurement activities, ensuring consistent project delivery, and collaborating with Project Managers, Responsible Engineers and internal logistics teams. Responsibilities Lead procurement activities on assigned client‑based project(s). Develop project bidder lists and prepare bid packages. Issue RFPs, evaluate bids, negotiate and clarify terms. Issue purchase orders or requisitions and manage change‑management processes. Close out purchase orders once contractual and procedural requirements are met. Work closely with Project Managers, Responsible Engineers and internal expeditors, SQS Coordinator and Logistics Coordinator. Communicate delays and schedule conflicts with the Project Team and relevant stakeholders. Administer and distribute specified reports to Clients and/or engineering staff. Mentor junior and intermediate buyers and support the team’s resource planning. Manage deadlines and ensure appropriate communication is provided when schedule conflicts arise. Qualifications Degree, diploma or certificate in Supply Chain Management or related area. Eight to twelve years of experience on Energy, Power and Industrial projects. Previous experience in an EPCM environment is an asset. Highly proficient in MS Office and experience working on Supply Chain Management software. Bilingual – English and French – is preferred.
