Position Summary The Production Manager is responsible for overseeing the complete screen-printing production workflow—from scheduling and team coordination to quality control and equipment performance. This role ensures all jobs are produced accurately, efficiently, and on schedule while maintaining Civilian's standards for craftsmanship and consistency. This position is ideal for a hands‑on leader with strong screen‑printing expertise and a commitment to maintaining a clean, organized, and high‑performing production floor. Key Responsibilities Production & Workflow Management Oversee daily operations of the screen‑printing department, including press setup and production scheduling Develop and manage daily and weekly production schedules in coordination with Sales and Art teams Assign work to press operators and support staff to ensure smooth workflow and coverage Monitor job progress and adjust priorities to meet deadlines Manage ordering and inventory of inks, chemicals, and consumables Quality Control Ensure all jobs receive approved test print sign‑off before production Verify ink mixes, garment counts, placements, and approvals prior to production Perform in‑process and final quality checks to maintain shop standards Address quality issues promptly and implement corrective actions Team Leadership & Training Supervise, coach, and support production staff with a focus on accountability and improvement Train new team members on equipment operation, safety, and workflow standards Lead regular team meetings to review expectations, address challenges, and plan upcoming work Equipment, Maintenance & Shop Standards Oversee maintenance, cleanliness, and proper operation of all screen‑printing equipment Troubleshoot equipment issues and coordinate repairs when needed Ensure safe handling and storage of chemicals, inks, screens, and cleaning materials Maintain a clean, organized, and efficient production environment Operational Efficiency Identify workflow inefficiencies and implement productivity improvements Track waste, misprints, downtime, and production delays, addressing root causesSupport continuous improvement of SOPs, processes, and documentation Cross‑Department Collaboration Work closely with Sales, Art, Digital/Embroidery, and Shipping teams to align timelines and priorities Communicate production updates, challenges, and solutions proactively Support consistent execution for key accounts and recurring clients Qualifications Minimum 3 years of screen‑printing or print production experience, preferably in a leadership role Strong technical knowledge of screen‑printing processes, including mesh selection, inks, curing, press setup, registration, and troubleshooting Proven leadership, communication, and organizational skills Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast‑paced environment Physically able to lift up to 50 lbs and stand for extended periods Compensation & Benefits Casual dress environment Dental, extended health, vision, and life insurance On‑site parking Work Location In person (Kitchener, ON) Seniority Level Mid‑Senior level Employment Type Full‑time Job Function Staffing and Recruiting #J-18808-Ljbffr
