Principles of Telecommunications Networks Appreciation and understanding of data communications technologies for "New Public Networks" including ATM, Frame Relay, xDSL, IP and related services such as Transparent LANs (ATM/FR), xDSL/IP access, VPNs, derived voice etc. Also, a good working level understanding is important of major layer2 and layer3 vendor products including element management systems, ATM core switches, Subscriber Management Systems, DSLAMS, edge connections, routers, switches etc and associated equipment vendors including Lucent, Cisco, Nortel, Alcatel, Newbridge, Copper Mountain, Coppercom, Jetstream etc. Principles of Telecommunications OSS’s Appreciation and understanding of telecom service provisioning (i.e. service fulfillment), planning/engineering, operations, service delivery and engineering. Experience with OSS technologies in the network management layer (i.e. activation, inventory and service assurance) and a working-level appreciation for the OSS delivery and sustaining challenges facing the "New Public Network" operators in deploying and maintaining strategic OSSs that are usable, operable and configurable. Leadership Skills Required Innovation Ability to create innovative and creative solutions to complex management and technical problems to assist with customer/partner project delivery. Ability to Work Under Pressure Ability to handle multiple, concurrent issues, projects and tasks in a controlled and systematic manner to ensure high-quality delivery of customer/partner solutions.
