Student Recruitment Officer, Ontario College Partnerships and Transfer Pathways

About the Role Reporting to the Manager, National Recruitment, the Recruitment Officer, Ontario College Partnership and Transfer Pathways is responsible for promoting Brock University’s presence within the Ontario college system and increasing awareness of transfer and pathway opportunities for college students. The Officer leads outreach efforts across Ontario colleges, delivering presentations, workshops, and advising sessions to prospective transfer students, and implements targeted recruitment and conversion initiatives to highlight Brock’s transfer credit options, degree completion pathways, and student support services. Responsibilities Actively promote Brock University’s programs, degree completion opportunities, and transfer pathways to students enrolled at Ontario colleges, including encouraging both general transfer applicants and those following specific articulation or pathway agreements; Lead outreach and promotional activities across Ontario colleges to increase awareness of Brock University among students and staff, including participation in fairs, in-class presentations, advising sessions, and campus visits; Develop and execute a wide range of outreach and marketing initiatives including digital campaigns, social media engagement, email outreach, and mailings to promote Brock’s transfer opportunities across multiple platforms; Support college transfer applicants through every stage of the admission and onboarding process, ensuring a smooth transition from applicant to confirmed Brock student; Drive the conversion of college transfer applicants by providing proactive guidance and support throughout the process, including assistance with document submission, meeting admission requirements, confirming acceptance, and completing course registration; Support the exploration and development of new initiatives and funding opportunities that align with Brock’s goals for college to university transfer and student success, including assisting with applications, proposals, and reporting processes related to current and potential external funding sources; Collaborate with Brock’s Smart Start orientation program to develop or adapt programming for college transfer students, creating transition activities that accommodate varying start times and unique needs; Participate in or coordinate presentations at orientation and transition events, including Smart Start and other sessions tailored for incoming transfer students; Collect, analyze, and report on key data related to college transfer recruitment, outreach, and applicant conversion activities to support planning and decision making within the recruitment portfolio; Assist with campus tours, group visits, and other on-campus experiences by responding to visitor questions and providing a welcoming and professional presence; Participate in and ensure transfer-specific information is represented within major recruitment events such as Fall Preview Day, Open Houses, Ontario Universities Fair, and campus tours. Key Skills and Experience An undergraduate degree in a relevant discipline (e.g., Business, Education, Marketing, etc.) or equivalent combination of education and experience; Valid Ontario G class driver’s license with an acceptable driver’s abstract; Experience in customer service, sales, and/or marketing; Ability to master vast quantity of program and service knowledge related to the Brock student experience; Knowledge of conversion and retention strategies, program planning, project management, and implementation; Strong sales, persuasion, and professionalism skills, with the capacity to tailor communication for diverse audiences; Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills, complemented by polished presentation abilities for both large and small audiences; Demonstrates patience, compassion, cultural sensitivity, and understanding in all engagements; Promotes and embodies inclusivity and respect within the workplace and the broader community; Skilled in addressing inquiries from prospective students and applicants, counsellors, parents, agents, regarding the status of an application or decision, while upholding confidentiality and privacy requirements; Strong technical/multimedia skills, including knowledge of Office365 and social media platforms; Ability to think critically, analyze, and reason soundly while working in a fast-paced environment; Creativity in developing new ideas for tours and community engagement initiatives; Excellent organizational, time management and administrative skills; Comfortable with business travel. Preferred or Asset Skills Graduate of Brock University; Knowledge of Brock’s campus as well as the PSE landscape in Ontario; Previous experience in a college or university recruitment environment; Experience with business travel; Experience with large-scale community events. Salary and Total Rewards Job Grade K, Salary Scale ($61,286 - $99,384); Target Hiring Range: $61,286 - $65,000 * This is a Fixed term Contract position that includes: Health & Dental Benefits: Comprehensive extended health, dental, and vision coverage. Pension Plan: Enrollment eligibility in the Brock University Pension Plan. Vacation: Up to 3 weeks per year, in addition to university holidays. Flexible Work Arrangements: Hybrid work schedule available. *The final salary is based on experience, internal equity, and budget considerations within the target hiring range.
