Role Description  

This is a contract hybrid role for a Project Manager at Alteris Consulting in Toronto, ON, with flexibility for remote work. The Project Manager will be responsible for driving all aspects of a project lifecycle within our data practice working and communicating effectively with stakeholders across various lines of business. 

Job Description- Consulting Engagement in Toronto- Project Management Data Science 


Our data science practice is looking for a project manager to bring together the foundational knowledge of data science project learnings to our client environment. The project manager will execute all day-to-day technology and business project activities. The individual must have a strong understanding of delivering data science projects with achieved benefit realization.  


As a member of the Alteris Project Delivery team, you will join a dynamic group of responsive Project Management professionals leading Enterprise data projects. The Project Manager is an integral member of the project team and provides project deliverable outcomes, supports the strategic direction, and works with our program leads to help drive data project activities. If you excel in the areas of technical project management, collaboration, and problem-solving, and you have the right experience such as experience in the deployment of Enterprise-class solutions, you are a strong candidate for this position. 


Project Management Qualifications:


Data Integration: Project manage the Design and implementation processes for data acquisition, storage, transformation, and retrieval from various sources, ensuring data quality and integrity but also seamless integration of large-scale datasets allowing our clients to fully leverage the value of their investment into their Data Lake and alike


Automation: manage the Development and implementation of automated processes for data extraction, transformation, and loading (ETL), reducing manual intervention and enhancing reliability via leading practice on data pipeline orchestration


Technical Management: Provide guidance and mentorship to data engineers, manage 3rd party vendors and create a culture of technical competency within the team

Security and Compliance: Ensure that data handling practices comply with industry standards and regulations, maintaining the highest levels of data security and privacy


Collaboration: Work closely with our client's business stakeholders, their data engineers and data scientists, AI researchers, and software engineers


Project Management experience in leading data engineering projects in an enterprise setting while working with a variety of data and analytic platforms, databases, and analytic/BI tools (Azure, Synapse, Databricks)

Experience in managing migrating data platform applications from on-prem to Azure Synapse and Databricks

Project management of Data integration/data ingestion across structured and unstructured data sources, along with various enterprise applications


Expertise with multiple integration/ETL patterns: batch, streaming, API/microservices

Familiarity with modern data architecture and platforms: cloud, data mesh, data lakehouse, delta lake

Advanced knowledge of Azure and all Microsoft technologies, SQL language, proficiency with Python, Spark/Scala or Java


Problem-Solving: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to think critically and creatively.

Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to convey complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
