Heavy Equipment Mechanic Project XIII Inc has partnered with a leading residential and commercial construction firm. Our partner is seeking a Heavy Equipment Mechanic to join their team. The location for this role is on-site at their Ottawa location. About the Opportunity The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining a wide range of heavy machinery and industrial equipment. This role requires a strong mechanical background, proficiency with various power and hand tools, and the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment. The Heavy Equipment Mechanic will ensure all machinery operates safely and effectively, minimizing downtime and maximizing productivity. What You Will Do Perform routine maintenance, inspections, and repairs on heavy equipment including excavators, cranes, forklifts, and farm machinery Diagnose mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic issues using schematics and diagnostic tools Repair or replace faulty components such as engines, transmissions, brakes, and electrical systems Conduct welding and fabrication work as needed for equipment repair or modification Use hand tools, power tools, and specialized equipment to complete repairs accurately Operate heavy machinery for testing purposes after repairs to ensure proper function Qualifications Proven experience as a Heavy Equipment Mechanic with dealership or industrial repair background preferred Strong knowledge of Caterpillar, HVAC systems, automotive repair, and schematics interpretation Experience working with excavators, cranes, forklifts, farm machinery, and other heavy equipment Proficiency in welding, electrical troubleshooting, mechanical assembly, and use of hand tools and power tools Who You Are You are professional and experienced mechanic passionate about maintaining heavy machinery critical to operations across various industries. Salary Range $60,000 - $90,000 based on experience.
