The Opportunity Lead a product-focused squad building out Observability Solutions on top of Grafana Cloud and play a key role in shaping the future of our observability products. As an Engineering Manager, you’ll be at the intersection of people, technology, and product direction. You’ll help define how our teams deliver reliable, high-quality experiences that empower engineers worldwide to test and improve system performance with confidence. Working closely with Product and Design, you’ll influence technical strategy, strengthen execution, and nurture an environment where talented engineers can grow and do their best work. What will you be doing You’ll manage and develop a distributed engineering team responsible for delivering reliable, high-quality software. Your day-to-day focus will include driving execution, enabling collaboration, and supporting engineers in achieving both product and personal growth goals. Some of your key responsibilities: Conduct regular 1:1s and career development sessions to guide engineers’ professional growth Foster an inclusive, high-performing team culture built on trust and continuous feedback Partner with Product and Design to refine roadmaps, align technical priorities, and deliver great user experiences Translate product goals into actionable engineering plans and iterative deliverables Continuously improving how teams collaborate, plan, and execute across disciplines Support hiring efforts and team capacity planning in collaboration with People Ops What makes you a good fit The ideal candidate combines technical depth with strong leadership and product sense. Has the ability to “wear multiple hats” – contributing to defining goals, shaping product direction, and gathering feedback from customers. Partners effectively with Product Management, Design, and cross-functional teams to deliver outstanding user experiences. Excels in collaborating with globally distributed engineering teams that operate with a high degree of autonomy and shared ownership. Communicates with clarity and empathy, navigating a global remote-first, multicultural environment with professionalism and ease. Adapts readily to change, managing multiple contexts and contributing thoughtfully across several parallel workstreams. Bonus Points for Additional experience in any of the following areas will be viewed favorably: Experience with observability products, either as a customer or vendor. Strong experience working with or monitoring Kubernetes. Experience managing multiple engineering teams responsible for distinct products. In Canada, the base compensation range for this role is CAD $186,300 - CAD $223,642. Actual compensation may vary based on level, experience, and skillset as assessed throughout the interview process.
