Senior Manager of Finance

Phoenix Residential Society is a charitable, community-focused non-profit that provides supportive, person-centered care in Regina. We work with people living with psychiatric disorders, substance use challenges, chronic homelessness, acquired brain injuries, and other cognitive disabilities. Our mission to provide recovery-oriented services that foster empowerment, promote hope, and build connectedness in the community. About the Role As our Senior Manager of Finance, you’ll be the numbers‑savvy powerhouse working closely with our Executive Director to keep Phoenix running smoothly (and maybe even make spreadsheets feel exciting). You’ll take the lead on preparing and analyzing financial statements, keeping our accounting systems humming, and making sure everything is accurate, complete, and aligned with reporting standards and internal controls. You’ll be our go‑to expert for financial insights—offering smart advice on systems, budgets, cash flow, forecasting, and organizational reporting. You’ll also share quarterly updates with our Audit and Finance Committee, helping shape the financial story of Phoenix. In this role, you’ll advise the Executive Director on how to make the most of our financial resources, and you’ll bring your expertise to the planning, implementation, and management of all things finance across the Society. Qualifications Knowledge & Qualifications You’re a CPA (or equivalent) who knows your way around accounting standards, internal controls, and audits. Bonus points if you bring insight into Indigenous culture and/or community-based programs. Skills You love digging into numbers, spotting trends, and making data make sense. Excel, Sage, and dashboards? Those are your happy places. You communicate clearly, confidently, and can make financial info understandable for non‑finance folks. You stay organized and accurate—even when things get busy. Attributes You’re a natural financial leader who can guide, mentor, and support a small but mighty finance team. Self‑motivated, dependable, and always ready to jump in where needed. Approachable, calm under pressure, and great at navigating tricky moments with professionalism. You’re collaborative, positive, and contribute to a fun, inclusive workplace. Detail‑oriented, adaptable, and totally unfazed when the day throws curveballs. You value confidentiality and represent the organization with professionalism. Working Conditions You will have an office space furnished with all the tools you need. There is a fair bit of sitting at a work station but you will have freedom to make your space comfortable and efficient for the way you like to work. Our main office shares space with some of the amazing programs we run, so you’ll get to meet and see firsthand the people benefiting from your work. Like any busy office, there will be occasional distractions and interruptions—but we promise a supportive and friendly environment to keep you grounded. Expect some screen time and focus work, but we balance it with a lively, people-centered atmosphere. Additional Requirements Employment is conditional on a clear criminal background check.
