Overview Burnaby Hospital is seeking a full time locum Infectious Diseases Specialist to provide consultative inpatient and Home IV/OPAT care. The successful candidate will join our team of two other ID specialists, working in collaboration with the regional infectious diseases network. The candidate will also collaborate with hospitalists, internal medicine specialists and other specialties. Responsibilities Provide consultative inpatient and Home IV/OPAT care Collaborate with the regional infectious diseases network Collaborate with hospitalists, internal medicine specialists and other specialties Dates Dates: ASAP – April 2025 Qualifications FRCPC Infectious Diseases CPSBC Full (Eligible for Full License) Compensation Fee-for-service MOCAP - on call payments Sessional - for non-billable Home IV services About Burnaby Hospital Burnaby Hospital is a 279 bed community hospital offering medical, surgical, obstetrical, psychiatric and tertiary palliative care. There are 24/7 ER services with 79,500 annual visits. Burnaby Hospital is undergoing a multi-year redevelopment project in two phases that will transform almost every area of the hospital. Phase one is planned for completion in 2025 and includes a mental health and substance use unit, maternity unit, neonatal ICU and new medicine unit. By completion in 2028, there will be an additional 243 beds. Burnaby is the third largest municipality in BC with a population of 205,000. It is a diverse community with parks, shopping, schools and community centers. It is about a 30–40 minute drive to downtown Vancouver and a 30 minute commute to North Vancouver and West Vancouver.
