To learn more, please see Overview Gale Library Sales Consultant, Western Canada (Remote) is a field sales role focused on promoting Gale products to libraries and academic institutions across British Columbia, Alberta, Saskatchewan, and Manitoba. The role requires travel and close collaboration with internal teams to meet sales goals and deliver customer value. What You'll Do Here Create and implement sales strategies and tactics for the territory Plan and attend customer meetings, prioritize opportunities, and efficiently follow through all stages of the sales cycle to conclusion Increase sales by identifying customers’ needs, matching Gale products to those needs, preparing and delivering sales presentations, writing proposals, and closing sales Represent Gale at key industry events such as conferences, exhibitions, and trade shows Cultivate and maintain extensive product knowledge of a large and growing product list Provide detailed sales reports and accurate forecasts; maintain up-to-date customer, pipeline, and sales information via CRM systems Uncover opportunities and solicit information from academic librarians, subject librarians, faculty, academic teaching staff, and researchers through effective questioning and listening Work closely with your sales colleagues and with other departments such as marketing, customer services, customer care, sales support, and product development by offering market feedback and intelligence Skills You Will Need Here College degree level with significant field sales experience, consistently hitting plan A customer-centric attitude with a consultative approach to selling Excellent communication skills with the ability to manage relationships between key stakeholders such as academics and librarians A high level of comfort collaborating with all levels of personnel both internally and externally Flexibility to adapt sales approach to suit the customer and product Strong organizational skills with an enthusiastic and self-motivated approach Excellent presentation skills Ability to absorb and maintain extensive product knowledge Proficient MS Office skills Ability to travel approximately 50% of the time within the territory (British Columbia, Alberta, Saskatchewan, and Manitoba) and for company meetings and industry events. Preferred Field sales experience within the academic library market Experience in negotiating large contracts Good understanding of the world of academia Compensation At Cengage Group, we provide a comprehensive Total Rewards package. The full base pay range is listed below, with individual base pay varying by schedule, qualifications, experience, internal equity, and geographic location.
