The Opportunity

MHG Hotels has an exciting and unique opportunity for aDirector of Sales. The Director of Saleswill oversee and manage all sales related functions of the hotel division toachieve hotel revenue, profit and customer satisfaction goals by developing andimplementing strategies to increase product awareness and hotel sales This rolewill be highly collaborative, working closely with The Chief Hotel Officer,General Managers, Revenue Management and the Marketing Team to developstrategies to maximize REVPAR and grow Market Share.

As the Hotel Sales Director, You Will

  • Participates in the development of the hotel'sbusiness strategies.
  • Develops and implements Sales strategies thatsupport achievement of the hotel's goals.
  • Monitors status regularly and adjusts strategiesas appropriate.
  • Develops the annual budget in conjunction withthe Executive Team
  • Maintain and promote a teamwork with clear,effective communication.
  • Ensure client/guest service standards are met throughcommunication amongst all properties.
  • Work to ensure hotels meet or exceed budgetedgoals.
  • Promote, record, track and report on companycross-selling procedures.
  • Utilize company profile database to determinegeographic areas for travel agent calls while maintaining top and existingtravel agent accounts.
  • Organize travel agent month and travel agentappreciation rates for slow months.
  • Assist with the development and implementationof internal and external promotional packages.
  • Implement business development practices aimedat attracting new business and systematically conduct sales calls to close onbusiness opportunities.
  • Attend and contribute to the bimonthly revenueand sales meetings.
  • Develop, update, and maintain accountability forthe sales strategy and strategic plan with the Chief Hotel Officer and GeneralManagers.
  • Leads on-property sales functions to buildlong-term, value-based customer relationships that enable achievements ofhotels sales objectives.
  • Maintain and expand corporate incentive programsvia mail, digital, personal visits, etc.
  • Follow and promote hotel standards with guestsand co workers.
  • Attend various events throughout the PEI andCanada to promote the MHG brand.
  • Evaluate and drive the properties participationin the various sales channels, market sales, event booking centres, electroniclead channels.
  • Execute and support the operational aspects ofbusiness booked (e.g. generate proposals, write contracts, develop client correspondence).

Who You Are

  • A high degree of commercial awareness andbusiness acumen.
  • Ability to understand the links between salesand profit.
  • Tremendous customer service skills and attentionto detail.
  • Strong negotiation skills and the ability toclose on sales.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communicator witha professional, friendly attitude towards clients and co workers.
  • Outstanding interpersonal skills, able toeffectively collaborate internally and externally.
  • Self-driven with a sense of urgency, able toprovide timely response to clients and co-workers .

What You Bring

  • Diploma or a Degree in Business or Hotel andRestaurant Management is preferred.
  • 3 to 5 years in a hotel sales or in a similarenvironment is preferred.
