TheService Engineer provides hands‑on engineering support and acts as a liaison between the technical requirements of a shop visit and the needs of the customer. You will collaborate with other departments to ensure that our products and services meet the highest industry standards and maintain compliance to relevant airworthiness and contractual requirements. What You’ll do: Service Support: Provide technical workscope information to various functional teams to support engine opportunities, bids, and contracts. Prepare detailed work instructions for engine repair and overhaul procedures. Reviews service bulletins and manual changes and incorporates amendments into production. Provides interpretation and clarification of overhaul data; produces non‑conformance resolution, temporary overhaul data revisions, maintain unit build standards, support tooling management and qualification, and review of bill of materials documentation to support repair and overhaul processes. Resolve technical problems and liaise with operations team and original equipment manufacturers as needed. Advises on repair and improvement schemes with feasibility studies. Support engine and accessory testing; perform engine test analysis and troubleshooting. Provides written or verbal technical advice for customers; produces reports relating to product serviceability, repair summaries, warranty, failure analysis or product configuration. Reviews warranty claims and advises management as required. Provides technical support during the implementation of new processes; specifies tools and test equipment required; assists in training on the overhaul and test methods. Provide support for First Article Inspection and New Product Introduction initiatives. Carries out special projects as assigned. SMS (Safety Management System): Recognize and understand flight safety critical parts and processes. Responsible for reporting flight safety concerns. Participate in proactive risk analysis of flight safety critical parts and processes. Other: Remain current with state‑of‑the‑art technologies and processes. Responsible for observing all applicable safety requirements and reporting immediately any unsafe practices/conditions. Desire to contribute outside of standard job functions. Strong desire to learn technical products and complex processes. Ability to adapt to changing demands and requirements. What Skills You’ll need: Basic Qualifications: Degree or Diploma in aerospace, mechanical, or metallurgy engineering, or equivalent. Preferred Characteristics Strong problem solving and critical thinking skills. Strong project management, planning, organizational, analytical, leadership, interpersonal, decision making, oral and written communication skills. Knowledge of gas turbine/accessory design theory, basic machine shop practices, basic gas turbine metallurgy, and familiarity with engine manuals. Knowledge of precision measuring instruments and the ability to interpret drawings. Knowledge of failure modes and effects analysis. Knowledge of quality requirements as they pertain to airworthiness and contractual requirements. Experience in an aerospace or manufacturing process engineering environment. Knowledge of aerospace materials and remanufacturing processes (e.g. welding, thermal spray, metal removal, heat treatment, bench operations, plating, painting, etc.).
