Summary
This position offers you the opportunity to join a fast-paced organization and make an immediate impact. You will be responsible for generating new business for Maxwell Paper by networking, cold calling, advertising and all other means required to generate interest from potential clients. This position requires you to work with our internal team, sales staff, and other managers to increase sales opportunities for the organization. Primary responsibilities of the Business Development Manager will include conducting on-going research and analysis, staying current in trends and innovations that may impact business interests or assist in business functionality, identifying and developing sales leads when applicable, providing advanced administrative support, and facilitating and assisting in all aspects of the proposal process.
Job Duties
- Conduct market research and analysis specific to the Industry
- Prospecting new business contacts using a consultative and collaborative approach with clients
- Work with senior members of the management team to demonstrate Maxwell’s value proposition and product functionality
- Maintain accurate records of all prospecting activities including calls and presentations
- Expand knowledge of industry as well as the competitive position of the company
- Promote the mission and values of the organization both internally and externally
- Assess operational issues in regards to competitiveness, staying current in terms of trends and innovations, technologies and processes
- Participate in developing a process to gather continuous feedback from clients. Maintain accurate records of all prospecting activities including calls and presentations
- Maintain and develop knowledge of products and services, act as a resource for internal and external inquiries.
- Prepare and deliver reports on the status of all research and sales initiatives as well as any ongoing projects to Senior Management when required.
- Facilitate all aspects of the proposal process, including project and proposal coordination and liaising with customers when required.
Requirements
- Minimum Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration or related field
- Previous work experience in business development
- Possesses the following personal qualities: self-motivated, integrity, creativity, high standards, commitment, ethical values and achievement oriented
- Excellent organizational, strategic, planning and implementing skills
- Excellent Management writing and verbal communication skills
- Strong presentation, written and verbal skills
- Proven skills to interact effectively with the public and all levels of management
- Understanding of the industry and area of service
- Strong computer literacy, including effective working skills with MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Adobe products and e-mail required
Working Conditions
- Full-Time Remote
- Interacts with employees, management and the public at large.
- Travel will be required.
- Extensive work using computer and telephone.
- Responsibilities may include evening and weekend work in response to needs of the customers and systems being reported.
