Who are you? You are a seasoned Senior Construction Cost Estimator who specialises in civil infrastructure construction cost estimating, with a minimum of 10 years of post‑graduate experience. You are self‑motivated, driven, and capable of working independently and as part of a high‑performing team. In this impactful role you will provide advice, leadership and direction, actively embedding and promoting the purpose, values and vision of Turner & Townsend. Job Responsibilities Produce, present and defend construction cost plans and cost estimates for key infrastructure clients developing complex engineering projects from feasibility/ concept design up to detailed design (pre‑tender estimates). Review and validate cost submissions from General Contractor(s) within a Progressive Design Build contractual environment as part of Target Cost/Price Development. Challenge General Contractor’s cost build‑ups and associated assumptions when necessary. Provide costings of options and present these as part of project optioneering stages. Provide cost reconciliation cost estimates, including associated justification, to project clients and key stakeholders. Engage in value engineering workshops to identify cost savings and optimum solutions for the client. Participate in probabilistic risk assessment workshops to calculate contingency provisions (e.g., Quantitative Risk Assessments). Produce cost benchmarks to validate and target‑set major infrastructure projects. Actively interface with project clients, key stakeholders, contractors, and consultants (engineering, etc.) to provide cost advice during all project stages. Collaborate closely with high‑performing project teams to manage expectations and achieve clients’ goals. Qualifications Degree and/or certification in Quantity Surveying, Civil Engineering, Construction Management or equivalent. Minimum of 10 years’ experience in cost estimating across pre‑contract/post‑contract phases of infrastructure projects. Membership of professional organisations (e.g., CIQS, RICS, AACE) is a bonus. Knowledge and proficiency with estimating software used on major civil engineering projects. Experience working as an estimator in the aviation sector is not essential but a bonus.
