Senior Construction Cost Estimator – Civil Infrastructure Turner & Townsend is a global professional services company with over 22,000 people in more than 60 countries, delivering outcomes across real‑estate, infrastructure, energy and natural resources. Responsibilities Produce, present and defend construction cost plans and estimates for key infrastructure clients, covering complex engineering projects from feasibility/concept design through to detailed design and pre‑tender estimates. Review, validate cost submissions from General Contractors within a Progressive Design Build contractual environment as part of Target Cost/Price Development. Challenge General Contractor cost build‑ups and assumptions when necessary. Provide costings of options and present them during project optioneering stages. Provide cost reconciliation estimates with justification to be presented to project clients and stakeholders. Engage in value engineering workshops to identify cost savings and optimal solutions for the client. Participate in probabilistic risk assessment workshops to calculate contingency provisions (e.g., Quantitative Risk Assessments). Produce cost benchmarks for validation and target‑setting on major infrastructure projects. Interface with project clients, key stakeholders, contractors and consultants (engineering, etc.) to provide cost advice throughout all project stages. Collaborate with high‑performing project teams to manage expectations and achieve client goals. Qualifications Degree or equivalent in Quantity Surveying, Civil Engineering or Construction Management; certification also acceptable. Minimum 10 years of experience in cost estimation across pre‑contract and post‑contract phases of infrastructure projects. Professional membership (CIQS, RICS, AACE, etc.) is a bonus. Proficiency with estimating software used on major civil engineering projects. Experience in the aviation sector is not essential but desirable.
