Position Summary The Community Development Lead works closely with community champions and leadership to turn plans into action across multiple Indigenous and Tribal Nation opportunities. Working within a three-person pod model: Business Development initiates discussions Account Executives confirm community vision, scope, and engagement You coordinate next steps to prepare communities for successful project execution You’ll manage 40+ active accounts in the CRM, circulate timely recaps and follow-ups, coordinate meetings and planning, track funding windows, and prepare communities for funding applications. You’ll liaise cross-functionally with Operations, Grant Writing, Customer Success, Finance, and Legal to assemble complete proposal and planning packages. This role is ideal for an ultra-organized communicator who is culturally respectful, thrives in a consultative environment, and is comfortable traveling to support community meetings and events. Key Responsibilities Project Momentum Ownership Drive post-meeting coordination, including agendas, next steps, owners, and timelines Maintain a portfolio of 40+ accounts with clear stages, risks, and funding or council timelines Schedule follow-ups, send recaps within 24–48 hours, and proactively unblock issues Prepare client-ready communications, one-pagers, and light proposals or scopes of work Coordinate with internal teams to compile proposal packages, including quotes, grant documentation, MoUs, DCRs/BCRs, feasibility studies, and business plans Relationship Building & Community Engagement Maintain multi-stakeholder relationships across leadership, health, education, lands and water, and economic development Communicate with cultural care, respecting protocols and access needs Coordinate demos, site tours, and reference calls, including logistics and summaries Capture objections and questions and coordinate thoughtful responses with internal teams Serve as a reliable, respectful, and responsive point of contact Funding & Readiness Support Track funding windows, eligibility requirements, and application deadlines Prepare communities for funding applications through documentation and readiness coordination Partner with grant writing teams to align priorities and timelines Monitor funding status and proactively flag upcoming opportunities Strategy & Cross-Functional Collaboration Partner with Business Development and Account Executives on account planning and prioritization Collaborate with Operations, Customer Success, Finance, and Legal to ensure seamless execution Manage internal handoffs to maintain momentum and quality Events & Representation Support 25–40% travel for conferences and community events Conduct pre-event outreach, on-site note-taking, and disciplined post-event follow-ups Prepare concise event briefs and debriefs with clear action items Represent the organization’s mission with credibility and care in community settings Risk Management & Reporting Identify, track, and manage account-level risks and blockers Escalate issues requiring leadership or cross-functional intervention Maintain clean CRM data and pipeline hygiene Report weekly KPIs and monitor conversion health across stages Qualifications Experience & Background 2+ years in project coordination, sales coordination, customer success, or community or economic development roles Demonstrated experience working with Indigenous communities or Tribal Nations, or a strong commitment to learning Post-secondary education is not required; lived experience and community-based knowledge are highly valued Skills & Competencies Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills Cultural sensitivity and willingness to learn Indigenous governance and decision-making processes Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple priorities Comfort operating in a fast-moving, evolving environment Proactive, solutions-oriented mindset Additional Requirements Willingness to travel across Canada and the United States Ability to work occasional non-standard hours to accommodate time zones Valid driver’s license required Indigenous applicants are strongly encouraged to apply.
