This position offers an exciting opportunity within an innovative, employee-oriented company*What We Offer:** Flexible Schedules* Extended health benefits* Dental coverage* Vision coverage* Life Insurance* Eligibility towards Group Retirement Savings Plan contributions* Employee Appreciation Event_*Please note that this position requires 100% in office - no remote work*_*Duties & Responsibilities:** Monitors and evaluates the workplace to ensure compliance with provincial Workers Compensation Act and OHS regulations* Coordinate and deliver EHS related training (WHMIS, PPE use, etc) to reduce accidents, occupational illnesses and exposure to long-term health hazards.* Support Joint Health and Safety Committee activities, including meetings, agendas etc.* Performs Personal Protective Equipment assessments and risk assessments associated with tools, equipment, and work environments* Collaborates with leaders to investigate incidents, identify root causes incidents and develops recommendations and follow-up to prevent recurrences.* Promote a positive safety culture and environmental stewardship across all levels of the organization* Conducts training and presentations for health and safety matters* Coordinate return to work such as daily/weekly check-ins with the injured worker, assist in finding accommodations as directed by the Safety Manager.* Perform other duties as assigned*Qualified candidates must possess:** Knowledge of WorkSafeBC OHS Regulation and related standards* Valid Canadian Standards Association (CSA) Intermediate First Aid* A minimum of 1-2 years of manufacturing related safety experience* Degree or diploma in Occupational Health and Safety Management or Health, Safety, and Environmental Compliance or related* National Construction Safety Officer (NCSO) certification or equivalent desired* High level of computer literacy and application skills in MS Office* Exceptional organizational skills, able to prioritize, detail oriented* Ability to multi-task and work efficiently* Good interpersonal and communication skills (written and verbal)* Able to work independently and as part of a team* Great reliability and professionalism* Positive attitude and willingness to learnJob Types: Full-time, PermanentPay: $25.00-$35.00 per hourBenefits:* Extended health care* Paid time off* Vision careFlexible language requirement:* French not requiredSchedule:* 8 hour shift* Day shift* Monday to FridayExperience:* Manufacturing Safety: 1 year (required)* WorkSafeBC OHS Regulations and related standards?: 1 year (required)Licence/Certification:* Canadian Standards Association (CSA) Intermediate First Aid (required)Work Location: In person
