Job Details Position Title: Client Services Technician – FIFA Support Specialist Status: Project of a Non‑Recurring Kind (PNRK) – 7 Months Hours: 24 hours per week Faculty/Department: Information Technology Services Campus/Location: Lakeshore Campus Salary: Payband H (Start $37.34 – Max $43.18) Duration of Need: 7 Months Deadline to Apply: January 2nd, 2025 Job Posting: 12/19/25 Department: IT Client Services About the Client Services Technician Role As a Client Services Technician – FIFA Support Specialist, you will resolve technical issues, troubleshoot network connectivity and equipment faults, set up and configure end‑point technology, provide technical enquiries support, maintain and repair equipment, respond to high‑impact requests, and contribute to the planning of future technical solutions through testing, experimenting, and researching. Key Responsibilities Resolve technical issues, troubleshoot network connectivity issues, troubleshoot equipment faults/failures; upgrade to Support Partners as necessary. Set up, deploy and configure end‑point (mobile devices/desktop computers) or Audio‑Visual technology to support service requests or special events, and install software on individual computers, in computer labs and in classrooms. Respond to technical enquiries, advise on proper use of technology, demonstrate and coach clients on standard software tools, and communicate standard procedures and policies. Guide 3rd‑party supports to ensure alignment with Humber’s practices. Actively and preventatively maintain and repair equipment (including swapping Customer Replaceable Units and consumables) to ensure that all technical assets are operational and available for students, faculty and staff for learning, teaching, meetings and events. Respond to high‑impact requests such as technology faults/failures and/or issues impacting student learning, registration, or executive meetings. Support planning of future technical solutions through testing, experimentation and research of existing, new and/or changing technology. About You Education 3‑Year Diploma / Degree or equivalent in Computer Science or Information Technology. CompTIA Network Certification or equivalent. CompTIA A+ Certification or equivalent. Windows/Mac OS Operating System training. AVIXA CTS Certified Technical Specialist or equivalent. Experience & Skills Minimum of three years’ experience in a dynamic, fast‑paced technical support environment, providing support for diverse network architectures, audio‑visual technologies, and print hardware. Must demonstrate advanced skills in hardware and software troubleshooting, configuration, and incident management, preferably within an academic setting.
