Competition Number 25-091 Salary $85,119.00 - $103,331.00 / Year Job Type Permanent Full Time Closing Date November 30, 2025 Position Overview The City of Saint John is seeking qualified applicants for the position of Municipal Engineer – Infrastructure Development with the City’s One Stop Development Shop. The incumbent will review and approve municipal servicing plans, drainage systems and utility installations for new development. Additionally, the role involves providing client‑focused, cost‑effective professional engineering support and project management related to construction, operation and maintenance of water, wastewater, storm drainage and transportation systems, and sustaining municipal infrastructure. The candidate will be part of a technical team responsible for formulating engineering solutions, directing technical support staff, engineering consultants, developers and contractors while supervising municipal development. Essential Qualifications Demonstrated leadership ability and excellent interpersonal and client‑focused skills. University degree in civil engineering. Experience in a construction, consulting or municipal environment. Must be a Professional Engineer and eligible for registration with APEGNB. Candidate may be eligible to participate in a Flexible Time Options Program, including a 4‑ or 5‑day work week, subject to business requirements.
