Job Overview

We are looking for a highly skilled Estimator / QS with a minimum of 7 years of experience in construction estimation, preferably within the industrial and commercial sectors. The successful candidate will be responsible for preparing accurate cost estimates, assessing project feasibility, and contributing to the financial success of our projects.

Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare detailed and accurate cost estimates for construction projects, including materials, labor, and equipment.
  • Analyze project specifications, drawings, and related documents to determine scope and requirements.
  • Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and subcontractors to obtain necessary information for accurate estimations.
  • Identify cost-saving opportunities and potential project risks.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with suppliers, subcontractors, and other key stakeholders.
  • Participate in bid preparation and submission, ensuring competitive and compliant proposals.
  • Track and update cost databases to reflect market trends and pricing fluctuations.
  • Assist in contract negotiations and review of vendor proposals.

Qualifications & Experience

  • Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, Quantity Surveying, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 7 years of experience in construction estimating, with a strong background in industrial and commercial projects.
  • Proficiency in estimating software (e.g., Bluebeam, CostX, or equivalent).
  • Strong knowledge of construction materials, methods, and industry best practices.
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
  • Ability to interpret architectural and engineering drawings.
  • Strong negotiation and communication skills.
  • Experience working within the Canadian construction industry, particularly in the Toronto market, is preferred.
