Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Senior Roofing Estimator to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in roofing estimation, with expertise in analyzing blueprints, specifications, and other documentation to prepare accurate and competitive estimates. The Senior Roofing Estimator will play a key role in securing profitable projects and maintaining relationships with clients, suppliers, and subcontractors.

Key Responsibilities

  • Estimate Preparation: Review project plans, specifications, and other documentation to prepare detailed and accurate cost estimates for roofing projects.
  • Client Interaction: Communicate with clients to understand project requirements, provide estimates, and negotiate contracts.
  • Vendor Coordination: Source and negotiate with suppliers and subcontractors to ensure cost-effective and timely procurement of materials and services.
  • Risk Assessment: Identify potential project risks and develop mitigation strategies to ensure project profitability and client satisfaction.
  • Project Handoff: Collaborate with project managers and the operations team to ensure a seamless transition from estimation to execution.
  • Market Analysis: Stay informed about market trends, material costs, and industry best practices to maintain competitiveness.
  • Documentation: Prepare and maintain comprehensive records of all estimates, contracts, and project communications.
  • Mentorship: Provide guidance and support to junior estimators, helping to develop their skills and expertise.
  • Compliance: Ensure that all estimates comply with local building codes, regulations, and safety standards.

Qualifications

  • Experience: Minimum of 7-10 years of experience in roofing estimation, preferably in commercial and industrial projects.
  • Education: Degree or diploma in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or a related field is preferred, but equivalent work experience will be considered.
  • Technical Skills: Proficiency in estimating software (e.g., PlanSwift, Bluebeam) and strong understanding of roofing systems, materials, and installation methods.
  • Analytical Skills: Strong analytical and mathematical skills with the ability to accurately estimate project costs.
  • Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to effectively interact with clients, vendors, and team members.
  • Attention to Detail: Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy in preparing estimates and reviewing project documents.
  • Problem-Solving: Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to identify issues and develop effective solutions.
  • Team Player: Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
