Well established corporation in the Central Quebec region seeks a General Manager with a manufacturing profile to be responsible for one of their profitable divisions and to continue the successful operations of this plant.
Responsibilities:
Manage day-to-day Site operations including the areas of production, engineering, quality, environmental, scheduling, purchasing, systems, R & D, sales, marketing, customer service, accounting, human resources and labour relations. • Establish short-term and long-range goals and strategies in conjunction with the Regional Director of Operations. • Evaluate recommend and implement changes in business operations, organizational structure, capital equipment, staffing levels and procedures that will result in cost reduction and increased revenue and customer service levels commensurate with divisional goals and customer expectations. • Direct the preparation of annual budget to support goals; present for approval. • Ensure business plan goals/objectives and budget targets are understood by staff. • Establish & meet measurable metrics, including financial, production, quality, and safety. • Analyze and assess the Site's performance against operating plans, budget & standards and develop plans/strategies to address shortfalls. • Develop appropriate relationships with customers and suppliers to support long term business plans. • Promote a strong emphasis on safety, health, environmental & Human Rights compliance. Oversee and/or ensure good housekeeping. • Read and understand the Job Safety Analysis (JSA) • Understand and follow the safety, and quality procedures.
