Job Description The Saskatchewan Health Authority (SHA) and Arcola Family Health Clinic invites applicants to apply for a family physician position in a rural family medicine practice based in the town of Arcola. The successful candidate will work within a multi-disciplinary team providing healthcare services to the residents of Arcola and surrounding area as well as work collaboratively with other medical professionals to support the acute care and emergency services in the area. This practice offers a full range of services, which would include admitting privileges and access to the area's primary health care resources such as home care, mental health and addictions, chronic disease management, public health, etc. The SHA is dedicated to learning and is a partner in the educational needs of medical students, residents, nursing staff and allied health professionals. The successful candidate will be encouraged to become involved in the academic efforts in the Department of Family Medicine in our area. This position will remain open until filled and may be filled prior to the posted closing date. Relocation Package The successful candidate may be eligible for: 3 months free housing from the Moose Mountain Health Care Corp. The Rural Physician Incentive Program which provides up to $200,000 over five years to family physicians practising, or returning to practice, in rural and remote communities in Saskatchewan The SMA Retention Fund , which provides financial reward to physicians who practise full time in the province for extended periods of time ranging from $7,000 - $14,000 per year. Job Qualifications The successful candidate will be a team player, interact effectively with patients, colleagues, staff and management, and function well in a high volume environment with a commitment to the provision of high quality patient and family centered care Certified or eligible to be certified with the College of Family Physicians of Canada Regular or provisional licence with the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Saskatchewan (or eligible to be licensed) Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification Recommended - Advanced Trauma Life Support (ATLS), Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) and Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) Valid driver’s licence Successful SHA credentialing including but not limited to acceptable reference checks and criminal record check with vulnerable sector Current Canadian Medical Protective Association coverage The SHA supports a shared commitment to a representative workforce that is respectful and inclusive of all staff and clients and welcomes applications from those who will contribute to the diversity of our community.
