Senior Technical Product Owner

Overview Autodesk is seeking an experienced Product Owner to join the Architecture, Engineering, and Construction (AEC) Platform Data team. In this role, you will help drive delivery of our critical data platform and related services that power the AEC industry’s future workflows. You will report to the Director of Product Management for AEC Data and collaborate with peer Product Owners and Product Managers. As a Product Owner, you will work with a diverse team of product owners, engineering management, development leads, researchers, and experience designers. You will partner with internal stakeholders to understand customer and market needs and shape thoughtful work for the delivery team. You will influence outcomes in the product roadmap and promote a platform-first mindset in design and delivery. The AEC Platform Data team designs APIs, services, and user interfaces that customers and developers use to access and manage granular data across the project lifecycle and to extend Autodesk’s design and make software. Success in this role benefits from knowledge of data management, foundational product management tactics, Building Information Modelling (BIM) concepts, and the AEC project lifecycle. Responsibilities Collaborate with the product manager to understand the product roadmap and prioritize grooming and planning efforts. Deliver APIs and services that serve as a foundation for the data platform. Manage product backlog and sprint priorities, including creating user stories with product managers, designers, developers, and customers. Document and translate customer, business, and technical requirements into actionable work. Use analytics and customer feedback to understand product and user behavior and measure business value. Monitor execution performance, assess releases against acceptance criteria, and align outcomes with engineering leads. Proactively identify risks, issues, and dependencies and mitigate them with delivery teams. Support adherence to Definition of Done / Definition of Ready criteria on a day-to-day basis. Maintain a comprehensive understanding of sprint tasks and near-term backlog; escalate gaps to engineering leads and product managers. Be prepared to say “no” when necessary to keep the team focused on roadmap outcomes. Share perspectives on product delivery best practices and rituals; promote a platform-first approach. Minimum Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in computer science, software engineering, or a related field. 6+ years of combined experience in development, product ownership, project management, business analysis, or similar roles. Expertise in Agile software methodology. Experience managing concurrent projects and prioritizing between customer-facing features, requests, and technical needs. Strong stakeholder management and negotiation skills. Excellent communication skills across diverse audiences and contexts. Experience with cloud-based SaaS product development. Extensive experience with product delivery tools (e.g., Jira, Confluence). Preferred Qualifications Familiarity with the AEC industry and related design tools. Knowledge of API design, development, and support. Experience with data engineering workflows and data pipeline optimization. Experience working in a matrixed organization and ability to influence without authority. Ability to stay focused while navigating unknowns and scale products with strong product-market fit.
