Overview The Role Forward Education is looking for a Learning Experience Designer to own the success of our K-12 educator community as they dive into the world of coding and robotics with the Climate Action Kit. In this role, you will work cross-functionally across the company to support the implementation of our product, the Climate Action Kit, in school districts across Canada and the United States. You’ll create a robust, cutting edge professional development (PD) program that enables our clients to seamlessly integrate the kit into their existing teaching practices. What this looks like will differ day-to-day, but includes working with our Product & Education team to design impactful training and classroom resources, working with Sales & Marketing to act as a subject-matter expert when it comes to curriculum alignment, and working with Customer Success to lead PD sessions. Before you apply, consider if you can: Make a lasting impact on the world through your work Demonstrate initiative and commitment to excellence Thrive in a dynamic environment and adapt to change Communicate effectively while embracing diverse perspectives Set and achieve ambitious goals to drive success Energize our work culture with enthusiasm and a positive attitude Grow personally and professionally alongside a like-minded team Job Responsibilities Work cross-functionally to design a comprehensive professional development program for K-12 educators looking to integrate the Climate Action Kit into their classrooms Apply instructional design principles to develop a variety of impactful learning solutions, including workshops, webinars, e-learning modules, classroom aids, blogs, and social learning initiatives Ensure all content meets quality standards, including AODA requirements Facilitate hands-on training sessions on the BBC micro:bit, MakeCode and our Climate Action Kit Collect feedback, conduct assessments, and make recommendations to improve the quality of our PD initiatives Stay updated on the latest trends, tools, and best practices in learning theory, coding, robotics, environmental education, and edtech Collaborate with school administrators, STEAM coaches, and classroom educators to customize PD learning journeys for clients, as needed Assist in writing curriculum-aligned lessons for our online learning platform, as needed Qualifications 3+ years experience in teaching, training, or similar role Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Education, Computer Science, Engineering, Science, or related field Experience in K-12 education is highly desirable Knowledge of instructional design and adult learning principles Experience working with micro:bit, Lego, Sphero, or similar educational coding and robotics products Ability to deliver effective, practical training programs for educators, with strong presentation and facilitation skills Experience using a variety of content authoring tools and LMS platforms Strong attention to detail Strong relationship-building skills with a collaborative and supportive approach to training A genuine passion for technology and environmental education, with a commitment to empowering educators and students Work Environment May require travel to various school locations and training centers Potential for evening or weekend training sessions What we offer Stock options in an early stage startup that hasn’t received external funding 15 days vacation to start Hybrid work model Medical, dental, vision and extended health coverage from day one - no waiting period 2 paid “Because We Care” days (pet bereavement, religious holiday, mental health support, etc.) $500 Wellness Spending Account Virtual Health Support Weekly “Hour of Learning” to support your professional growth and development About Forward Education Do you want to help inspire future generations to make the world a better place?
