We’re looking for a skilled Account Manager to grow and manage our portfolio of loans for values‑aligned businesses and social‑purpose real‑estate projects, such as market rental housing, affordable housing, green buildings, and community spaces. Your Role in Supporting Our Members As part of the Commercial Real Estate team, you will provide expertise in credit underwriting, portfolio management, and funding, focusing on social‑purpose real‑estate finance. The role is full‑time, permanent, and hybrid – based at the VCIB head office with the flexibility of an Ontario‑based home office and occasional on‑site events. How You’ll Make an Impact Complete underwriting and analysis of commercial mortgage transactions, ensuring compliance with industry and company regulatory requirements. Assess suitability and conduct thorough due diligence in line with the company’s risk appetite. Prepare and issue letters of interest and commitment letters, outlining conditions for successful financing. Maintain objective, sound risk assessments in a service‑oriented environment. Provide guidance and decision‑making support to the origination team. Collaborate across teams to improve underwriting systems for greater effectiveness. Maintain a pipeline of transactions, tracking amendments, declines, and approvals for reporting and accountability. Complete loan renewals and annual reviews. Coordinate closing processes with solicitors, consultants, and clients, ensuring all funding requirements are satisfied. What You’ll Bring to the Team Bachelor’s or master’s degree in business, economics, finance, or a related field. Minimum of 3 years’ experience in real‑estate financing. Knowledge of the Ontario commercial real‑estate market. Strong interest in advancing social purpose and sustainable real‑estate initiatives. Excellent interpersonal and writing skills. Experience in commercial credit underwriting and strong business & financial analytical skills. Strong oral and written communication skills.
