We need talented, passionate professionals dedicated to using finance as a force for good and doing what’s right for our clients.Your Role In Supporting Our MembersAs an Account Manager on the Commercial Real Estate team, you will play a critical role in growing and managing the portfolio of loans to values‑aligned businesses and social purpose real estate projects, including term and construction financing of market rental housing, affordable housing, green buildings, and community spaces. You will join a small, diverse team of entrepreneurial, purpose‑driven individuals and contribute your expertise in credit underwriting, portfolio management, and funding with a specialized lens on real estate finance.This is a Full‑time, Permanent role based at the VCIB head office and your Ontario‑based home office. You will report directly to the Manager, Business Development – Commercial Real Estate. While this position provides a hybrid work arrangement, you will be expected to be on‑site for events and business demands.How You’ll Make An ImpactComplete underwriting and analysis of commercial mortgage transactions for term and construction facilities, ensuring all files meet industry and company regulatory requirements.Assess suitability, review risks, and complete due diligence on commercial mortgage transactions in accordance with the company’s risk appetite.Prepare and issue letters of interest and commitment letters outlining all conditions that must be met and negotiated terms.Maintain consistent, objective, and sound risk assessments in a service‑oriented environment.Provide guidance and decision‑making to support the origination team in solving problems.Work effectively with colleagues across teams to improve underwriting systems and maximize effectiveness.Maintain a pipeline of transactions and a file of all transactions amended, declined, or approved to support accountability and reporting.Complete loan renewals and annual reviews.Coordinate the closing process with solicitors, third‑party consultants, and clients, ensuring that all funding requirements have been met.What You’ll Bring To The TeamBachelor’s or master’s degree in business, economics, finance, or related field.Minimum of 3 years’ real estate financing experience.Knowledge of the Ontario commercial real estate market.Strong interest in advancing social purpose and sustainable real estate.Strong interpersonal and writing skills.Experience in commercial credit underwriting and evidence of strong business and financial analytical skills.Strong communication skills (oral and written).Experience in business banking, CMHC financing, and project finance is an asset.You’ll Thrive Here If You AreA problem solver with an analytical mind and ability to multi‑task for solutions.A great communicator who builds meaningful conversations.Ready for a challenge with a positive attitude in a fast‑paced, changing environment.A resourceful individual utilizing available networks to independently formulate solutions.A strong relationship builder who builds trust with others.We value lived experience, so if you are interested in this role, we encourage you to apply even if you feel your skills don’t perfectly align with those listed.Why You’ll Love Working HereA career at Vancity is more than just a job; you’re joining a tradition of change‑makers creating lasting change for our communities.
