Toronto, Canada DIG Insights, Inc Full time

Director of Sales - Future Strategy & Innovation Dig Insights is a tech-enabled research company that helps our clients - global consumer brands - move beyond consumer-centric to decision-centric. Our clients can then go-to-market with innovations that shift consumer decisions in their favor. Our work is supported by the technologies that we leverage and create. This includes Upsiide, our proprietary innovation insights platform. Upsiide is a SaaS platform that reinvents how enterprise companies screen, optimize, and build a business case for innovation. Our clients span verticals including CPG, QSR, retail, technology, financial services, and telecommunications. Our work is led by a team of over 250 strategists, insights leaders and data scientists. We work for a global client base out of offices in Toronto, Chicago, and London. Our success is due to our strong commitment to our clients, and the creativity and dedication of our entire team. Since the beginning, we have been focused on building the smartest consumer insights company and that means hiring people who are bright, creative, resourceful, and kind. People who succeed at Dig are curious, question established norms and are passionate about helping our clients to move their businesses forward. If you want to join a team that takes themselves just seriously enough to produce great work, we’d love to welcome you. As we continue to grow, both geographically and in our expertise, we are looking for people who want to join a high-growth and highly collaborative company. Director of Sales - Future Strategy & Innovation – About this role At Dig Insights, we are building the future of market and cultural intelligence. We’re looking for a Director of Sales excited to help define, grow, and scale this core growth engine for the business. This role is an individual contributor role accountable for driving revenue growth through the end-to-end sale of Dig’s Future Strategy & Innovation (FSI) solutions. Dig Insights’ Future Strategy & Innovation (FSI) solutions help organizations look ahead with confidence—tackling their toughest growth and innovation questions, from where to play and how to win to what actions are needed now to be ready for what’s next. By blending trend foresight, cultural intelligence, and custom qualitative and quantitative research, FSI programs surface emerging signals and opportunity spaces, turning insight into clear, actionable strategy over a 3–5 year horizon. The Director of Sales, Future Strategy & Innovation is an experienced commercial leader responsible for driving growth of Dig’s FSI solutions across priority accounts and new business opportunities. This role leads the sourcing, shaping, and progression of opportunities, partnering closely with consulting leaders to translate ambiguous client needs into compelling, client-ready value propositions. Carrying a quota tied to FSI bookings, the Director of Sales FSI is accountable for delivering measurable commercial impact. They also play a pivotal role in establishing FSI as a differentiated, high-value offering in the market. Highly strategic and cross-functional, this individual operates at the intersection of commercialization, new business development, and growth orchestration. They partner deeply with the FSI Lead and Insights Consulting leadership to identify whitespace, qualify opportunities, and shape tailored solutions that advance through the sales process. This role is ideal for a commercially driven leader who is energized by complex, consultative sales, enjoys working with senior stakeholders, and is excited to help scale an emerging area of the business with significant growth potential. Your primary responsibilities will include, but are not limited to: Partner with the Head of Future Strategy & Innovation delivery team to identify priority spaces, target accounts, and high-potential buyers within innovation, R&D, and strategy roles. This includes these roles within existing Dig accounts, as well as net-new logos. Advance complex, consultative FSI opportunities from early-stage or ambiguous client needs through proposal development and close, shaping compelling capability narratives, developing persuasive pitch materials, and coordinating cross-functional inputs. Drive the full sales cycle for FSI pursuits in collaboration with FSI VPs—including planning, alignment, qualification, competitive pricing strategy, sales process orchestration, proposal development, and management of all commercial workflows and paperwork. Represent FSI within account strategy by working closely with Account Leads and cross-functional partners (Client Development, Insights Consulting, Upsiide) to surface opportunities, coordinate key steps, and ensure FSI integration into account plans. Act as the "commercial brain" behind FSI solutions-helping to productize streamlined offerings, shape upsell paths, and ideas from the FSI Lead and broader team into clear, compelling, market-ready value propositions grounded in trend, foresight, and cultural intelligence. Deliver against the FSI bookings quota, managing forecasting, pipeline advancement, and win strategies. Own HubSpot usage and reporting to ensure accuracy, transparency, and disciplined pipeline management. 2. Collaborative Outreach & Opportunity Development Actively contribute and partner with colleagues to drive early-funnel outreach and opportunity development, leveraging shared resources and potentially BDR support. Translate market signals, whitespace insights, and future innovation priorities into coordinated outreach efforts that generate qualified conversations and advance opportunities. Lead discovery conversations with current and prospective clients to surface future-focused challenges, opportunities, and growth ambitions. Ensure alignment, visibility, and effective handoffs across outreach activity, FSI pursuits, and broader Strategic Growth priorities. 3. Strategic Growth & Process Leadership Ensure smooth handoffs between early-stage BD activity and downstream delivery teams—creating clarity on objectives, scope, next steps, and success criteria. Elevate the quality and consistency of FSI pitching discipline. Represent the best practice in enthusiastically, credibly, and persuasively delivering the Dig value proposition. Bring structure and operational rigor to the new business pipeline: tracking activity and advancing opportunities to decision points quickly. Act as a steward and ambassador for the Future Strategy & Innovation practice, bringing a strong understanding of its approaches and point of view into client and commercial conversations. 4. Cross-Functional Collaboration & Internal Influence Coordinate early opportunity alignment across Strategic Growth, Insights Consulting, Upsiide Programs, FSI, and Marketing. Model behaviors that create transparency, shared ownership, and proactive communication across teams. Support enterprise-level initiatives connected to account planning, commercial performance, and client growth strategy (in partnership with Client Development lead). Experience, Skills and Requirements: 8-10+ years in insights, innovation, market research, brand/strategy consulting, or related commercial roles. The ideal candidate has experience in future-focused, strategic capabilities including trends, foresight, and cultural intelligence Intellectual curiosity to deeply understand and authentically represent Future Strategy & Innovation program approaches Proven ability to source, shape, and advance complex commercial opportunities with multi-method background (ex: quantitative, qualitative, technology, syndicated, etc.). Existing network or ability to grow network of innovation, strategy, R&D, and insights functions, primarily in industries including CPG, Retail, Financial Services, QSR, Healthcare, and Technology. Strong capability in structuring pitches, developing proposals, and managing multi-step sales processes. Demonstrated success in early-stage Business Development or opportunity creation roles. Executive communication skills with the ability to run discovery calls, articulate value, and influence internal partners. Experience navigating cross-functional environments with multiple stakeholders and distributed teams. Why This Role This role offers the opportunity to help shape and scale a differentiated offering while driving measurable commercial impact through complex, consultative sales.
