As a Business Development Director, you will be selling advanced behavioral employee engagement and sales performance programs to Fortune 1000 companies. You will be focused on a short list of strategically targeted accounts. The role includes a base salary of $120,000 plus commissions and bonuses, with first years earning potential of $250,000

They have over a1000 employees worldwide with a staff of 16 people in the Canadian office. Their primary clients are in the Fortune 200 within the Telecom, Technology, Financial, Retail, Automotive and Food, and Beverage industries.
THE LOCATION
- Head Office Vancouver - Ontario Office is in Oakville.
- This is a work-from-home position within the GTA

PROSPECTIVE CUSTOMERS
The prospective customers are a small and focused group of strategically targeted accounts. You will be calling on those at the CEO, President, Chief Revenue Officers, VP of Sales, VP of Marketing, VP of Human Resources, and others at various Director Levels.
THE POSITION
As a Business Development Director, you will be selling advanced behavioral employee engagement and sales performance programs to fortune 1000 companies. You will be provided with a small list of accounts to strategically target. The role requires extensive research of the client through publicly available information such as annual reports and alike to identify their corporate focus, goals, areas that can be improved leveraging our clients' customized solutions. Before you make a call on a potential client your research and pre-call planning will impress the client with your knowledge and directionally guide you when meeting with the client. This role is for the curious who can immerse themselves in a client's business and identify potential solutions that would help them achieve their corporate goals in strategically partnering with our client. Our client's pricing model is not the cheapest and requires the ability to sell value and ROI. To assist client provides internal product experts and resources to help acquire new business and post-sales implantation and post-sale account management.
SALES CYCLE & PRODUCT VALUE
- Average order size is $250,000 +
- The Sales Cycle is typically 6 – 12 months.

- 80% researching, prospecting, presenting & closing.
- 20% account management/Admin
TERRITORY & OVERNIGHT TRAVEL
- East of Manitoba to Greater Toronto Area.
- Less than 25%.
COMPENSATION & BENEFITS
- $120,000 + commissions and bonuses
- First-year OTE $225,000 +
- Second-year OTE $260,000+

PREFERRED EXPERIENCE & BACKGROUND
- Min 5 years selling B2B professional services to C-level executives at Fortune 1000 companies.
- Understanding of employee retention/training, salesforce/channel motivation, or consumer marketing.
- Experience selling multi-year contracts
- No more than 3 jobs in last 10 years.
EDUCATION
- Post-Secondary Degree, advanced degree a benefit
TECHNICAL SKILLS
- Proficiency using Microsoft Office (Word, PowerPoint, Excel).
- Proficiency with Web 2.0 and SaaS solutions
- CRM is Salesforce
