An exciting opportunity has opened for a Human Resources Generalist based at our Ottawa headquarters, supporting our teams in Canada, the United States, and international offices. Reporting to the Vice President, Human Resources, the HR Generalist will play a key role in delivering the full range of HR services at Senstar. You’ll be the first point of contact for employees and managers on HR-related matters, helping to ensure our HR programs, policies, and practices are applied consistently and aligned with Senstar’s values and strategic goals. This is an ideal opportunity for a hands-on, systems-savvy HR professional who enjoys variety—moving from HRIS data, and time & attendance, to benefits, recruitment, and employee relations—all in the same day. Key Responsibilities: HRIS & Time and Attendance Manage and maintain BambooHR and its integration with other company systems. Manage the Replicon time and attendance system and support accurate data for payroll and reporting. Payroll & Benefits Support Support payroll by providing timely and accurate employee change reports. Administer employee benefits programs for Canada and the U.S., including building strong relationships with benefits brokers. Communicate with employees on benefit plan design, eligibility, and enrollment. Reconcile all Canadian and U.S. benefits billings and coordinate payments with Finance. Recruitment, Onboarding & Offboarding Support full-cycle recruitment and job postings using tools such as LinkedIn Recruiter, Indeed, and other job boards. Prepare employment agreements and coordinate comprehensive onboarding for new hires. Support offboarding to ensure a smooth and professional exit experience. Employee Relations & Business Partner Support Serve as the first point of contact for designated client groups. Work closely with managers and employees to identify, counsel, and resolve employee relations issues in a fair, timely, and mutually beneficial manner. Participate in talent management and employee engagement initiatives. HR Programs, Policies & Compliance Assist with HR policy development to ensure compliance with current legislation and Senstar standards. Support the job evaluation process and maintain consistency across roles. Participate in and comply with various audit processes. Monitor and report on key industry trends and competitive HR offerings. Contribute to departmental goals, objectives, systems, and continuous process improvements. Working Environment This role isprimarily on-site in Ottawa, with the expectation of being in the office for most of the week. Occasional travel to our regional office may be required. Key Ingredients for Success: Experienced HR Practitioner A minimum of five (5) years of experience in Human Resources. Strong understanding of Canadian HR legislation and processes; knowledge of U.S., EMEA, and APAC employment-related laws and regulations is an asset. Education & Professional Development Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources or equivalent experience CHRP designation obtained or in progress is considered an asset. Tech-Savvy & Data-Oriented Excellent computer skills with proficiency in MS Office and experience with HRIS applications (BambooHR experience is a plus). Comfortable working with multiple information systems and adapting to new applications. Analytical, Organized & Detail-Focused Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. Highly detail-oriented with excellent organizational abilities and the capacity to manage multiple priorities. Able to summarize important facts and information clearly and accurately. Trusted Communicator & Relationship Builder Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Strong interpersonal and listening skills with the ability to handle inquiries and support employee relations issues with tact and professionalism. Discreet, Professional & Adaptable Proven ability to respect and maintain confidentiality and discretion. Demonstrates emotional intelligence and sound judgment when dealing with sensitive or confidential matters. Flexible and adaptable in a changing environment, with a high level of initiative, creativity, and a strong work ethic. We may use technology, including AI-based tools, to support our recruitment process (for example, to compare applications against job requirements or to summarize interview notes).
